I don't know who this is from- but it was the sweetest thing and it made me happy.
I tried to find a present,
Fitting for Valentine Day,
But I didn't know what to get
With you so far away.
I don't have an address,
Just your avatar and name.
Sending some pixels
Just isn't the same.
I wanted to give some flowers
Or maybe a box of sweets,
But how could I give them
If we were never to meet?
No address to send a package
No number to hear your voice
I wish I could see you.
But I don't have a choice.
I only know you as username,
Characters on a string.
And pixels in an avatar
but not so many other things.
Even with such little contact,
You somehow caught my eye.
And made a mark in my heart.
With every forum reply.
While the net has made it easier
To find people that care,
It still makes it
Hard for gifts to share.
I wish I could give a hug
Holding you in my warm embrace,
But it just isn't the same
If we're not face-to-face.
I would shower you in gifts,
And create for you, a perfect day.
But such dreams must be on hold
Until I can find a way.
I'm running out of ideas
Of gifts from me to you.
I wanted to give you the world,
But this will have to do:
It's not my first choice,
To send such a plain gift
It's not much to see,
But I hope your spirits it'll lift.
So, please accept these pixels,
A digital flower bouquet
And have yourself
A Happy Valentine Day.
anybody want to claim my smile?
You'll have to prove it of course by telling me what the specifically gift was.
