Boy's Love - a genre made for females which focuses first and foremost on an open canon sexual/romantic relationship between two main male characters.

yaoi - (yah-oh-ee) "YAma nashi, Ochi nashi, Imi nashi," or, "no peak, no point, no meaning." this is the name of the subgenre of Boy's Love that focuses on pornographic sex to the point there's little to no plot. the Japanese have been known to joke that it really stands for "YAmete, Oshiri ga Itai!" - "stop, my a** hurts!"

slash - male/male fanpairings.

femslash - female/female fanpairings.
