The Living End
Where it all comes together
Protesting in DC
So on my way home from Hiruko_Khep's place today, I swung by the protest in DC to check it out. It was crazy. I had missed all the really good speeches but it was still really cool. I had never really been to a protest of that magnitude before but the energy was amazing. We were protesting the war in Iraq and to a lesser degree Bush himself. This was the response to the State of the Union Address, the President gave earlier this week where he petitioned support from the American people to send more troops to Iraq. He said that to pull out now would undo all the good we have done over there for the Iraqi people.

Personally, I think that is a load of crap. I could understand if there was an overwhelming number of people in Iraq that wanted American support but at best its 50-50. Everyday our soldiers die for a cause that isn't their's to fight. The Iraqi people need to fight this battle themselves but President Bush is so personally invested in this that he just can't let it go. And I am so tired of hearing people say "Well, do you want another 911 to happen?" That's garbage! The war in Iraq is not going after Ben Laudin or Iran (a country that has not only refused to help us seek out the terrorist but we have proof that they are to a certain degree involved). It has been almost 6 years since our president PROMISED us that he would personally see to it that the terrorists would be brought to justice. Now it seems like a joke. All our money and effort went into investigating Iraq in a "War on Terror" instead of Ben Laudin the actual ******** terrorist. Enough is enough. Bring our soldiers home. They shouldn't have to miss another Christmas or birthday just because our president has an agenda.
