The grass sways…the wind blows. The suns rays seem to never touch this place. It is bright and I can see, but the rays never touch the earth. The beautiful green grass is so soft to touch. It rocks the earth to sleep and keeps it warm at night. There are no trees no sky. There is only the universe and soft blackness of space. It is cold but not bitter.
The wind carries a soft chill on its breath. The sun is low on the horizon and casts long deep shadows against the spiked grass. I stand here alone. My shadow reaching back towards home. But there is nothing behind me or in front. Just the empty space of the great white plain. I feel at peace. My heart couldn’t feel any fuller.
I would not want my love her beside me now for the spirit of nature is always around me. He walks this plain with the living. The great stag and doe leap across the path and he follows as a silver stag. Never stopping they ride on and I still stand out against the earth. Even though I’m alone in this place…it’s alright because…I am one.
