Tristanic's Mumblings
It's a journal. I write in it. Comments would be nice.
Rememberance Day
Rememberance Day, November 11th. It is a day we have grown to remember and cherish as the day that thye Armistice was signed in 1918. For most people, It can be a day off school, or a day to pay respects for those numerous soldiers and casualties of war. Be it one of the world wars, peacekeeping missions, or some overseas operation like what is currently going on in Afghanistan and other countries of the like.

At this point, I would like to say that I am honoured to be a Canadian Citizen and I proudly wear my poppy as a sign that I will not forget them. From my country, or those around the world. Their voices will not be silenced. My respect will carry with me for them until the day that I too, leave this world.

Please, take a moment to stop and thank those brave men and women of the world that fought for the peace in the world that hopefully may be obtained with future years.

But what of connections to those either harmed or deceased? I may not have many personal connections, but within my Regiment, four brave soldiers were awarded the Victoria Cross. The highest medal of valour awarded to any such soldier. One of which, Piper Private Richardson. His pipes are in Parlaiment House in Victoria.

Our Regiment(Canadian Scottish Princess Marys) has their pipes back. That in it's own, is connection enough to me.
So please, Rememberance day, as a while, may be over for some, or just shy of it, but do not go through this whole day forgetting what Rememberance day is significant of. Our past, our present, and our futures.
