Holy Wings - Ch.2
Danny was in his room, doing tricks with his gravity-ball. It was going around his arms, sensing Danny's nerves that reacted the ball to do differnt movements. But this was nothing special, for this is one of the things that Danny does in his room when he is bored most of the time. But Danny wasn't bored, he was stressed, worried, or depressed from what to believe in. He felt like he was against a wall, stuck in with confusement. He was a bit scared on what to do.
The door was slowly creaking open. Danny seen what was through the crack of the door, just to see his Dad peeking through. "Son, you haven't been down stairs for hours. You alright?".
Danny held his breath, so no nerve in his body can move. The gravity-ball fell on his bed. "Dad, how does it feel to be tough? I mean, how do you control it?".
His father laughed a bit from his queshtion. "What do you mean by 'controling'?". His father sat on Danny's bed. "Son, I went to the military to be tough, and yes, I do feel like it. But please son, do not go to the military. I don't want you to die". He held Danny's shoulders.
"Of course! I'll never go and get my self killed. I just like to be tough, because mostly every girl in my school think I'm...". Danny was starting to blush,"...Wierd".
His father laughed out loud."It seems you want the girls, eh?". His father rubbed Danny's head. "Son, I don't know what you're talking about. Girls should love you by your looks, and despite that, girls like shyness since they think you're cute".
Danny smiled then began to look depressed. "It doesn't matter about the looks to some girls. Sure, they want the looks, but they want the personality. I don't have that. I mean, there is one girl that I really lov-..." Danny was thinking for moment. Since he was a teenager, 'Loving' would be going overboard, and his father would grow too proud of him. "...'Like' from the other girls. We are friends and we talk a lot, but not only am I too shy to ask her out or something, she looks scared and fragile". Danny snapped his fingers. "Now there is the problem. I like to be more tough and less shy, but my toughness might make me hurt her".
His father rubbed his chin, knowing how he feels."I understand now. You are between two emotions just to get her love?".
Danny nodded to his father like a responsible teenager. "Yeah. What do I do, Dad?".
His father held his left shoulder, smiling. "Ask her out tommorow, if you have a chance."
Danny blushed red hard, with his pupils as small as a period in a sentence. He was starting to flip. "But she will!... And she is gona!... And I-". His father coverd his mouth quickly.
"Do-it-tommorow, trust me". His father winked as he let go of his mouth."Go to sleep, Son. You have a big day ahead of you".
Danny nodded, as his father walked out of his room.
"Yeah...", Danny said with a sigh. "...A big day." Danny took off his un-buttoned shirt, turned off the light, and cuttled into sleep while feeling worried about tommrow.
"So...This is the child?"
Danny's wrist were chained to a metal wall, feeling the rust and blood that was on the wall with his whole body, since he was wearing nothing but his boxers. He started to ignore that, since he was realizing a reptilian looking creature that was wearing a torn, red cape and a crown while coverd in some silver jewlery. He had wings sticking out from it's back, that were flapping in excitement. The wings that were flapping were blowing on Danny's eyes, so he closed them a bit to get less air on them.
"Yes", a red hawk, looking person with pexed muscles and red eyes said, with his arms crossed with a smile. "I feel so much power within him".
The dragon looked at the red hawk with a raised eye brow. "What power? He is just a 15 year old wolf boy with fear."
"Fear he has, but he wanted-".
Danny woke up from his dream as he heard his alarm clock. He switched it off, then he looked at his calendar on his closet. "Sunday, looks like I have to get ready for today". Danny went out of his room and into the bathroom.
As he was in the shower, he was realizing the dream he had. "A big, reptillian guy...And a big red, glowing hawk with pexing muscles ...". But Danny shook his head to get it out of his mind. "Bah! Why am I making a big deal out of a dream?". Danny grabbed the shampoo and continued to wash himself.
An hour later, Danny walked down the stairs with his casual clothes on, a white shirt with a blue, stripped open-button shirt and some short jeans. He went in the living room to see his parents, but they weren't sitting down to watch TV. Instead, they were at an important conference at their work. "Looks like I have the house for myself until tonight".
He went to the door to go hang out with Zefin. But as he was about to exit, he realized that someone was infront of the door the whole time. Danny screamed like a girl as his hair rose up in shock.
"He...Helena!".
She was wearing a pink sweat shirt made from perfectly stitched yarn. Her legs were coverd in beauifuly curved jeans that showed her teenager self of being cute and popular, but she really wasn't. Hey Mobian species was a squirel, which was considerd the most beautifulest kind of species toward females. The only wierd thing is that she has a bunny's tail. Her Mother or Father must have been a bunny, but either way, Danny was always warm inside when she saw her blue eyes and caring look. To Danny, he thought she was an angel.
Danny just stared at her, seeing her arms being held behind her back, smiling at him. Why was she at his house at this kind of time? The thought of it make Danny unconsious.
She spoke in a cute and warming voice. "Danny, are you okay?". She went toward him and dropped on her knees to be by his body. She touched his forehead to see if he had a fever or a brain problem, since her Mother was a Doctor a few years back.
Danny opened his eyes lightly, and seen Helena's face, all worried. Danny became more pressured out, so he crawled away in imbarrestment. "Wh...Why are you here! Is there something you need?".
Helena was looking down,"No, I just wanted to see you". Helena was smiling from his scared look. She almost wanted to giggle from hoe cute he acted.
Danny was sweating in confusement. His voice started to skip like a broken record. "Ssssso! You...Wanted to see mmmMe, huh?"
Helena finnaly giggled. "I haven't seen you since yesterday. I mean, I wanted to see a friend before school starts".
Danny sighed to get some pressure out. "Okay...That's cool."
Helena touched his shoulder. "Maybe a walk in the park can help you".
Danny looked at Helena and nodded. "Sure thing, taking a little walk can get some pressure out of me, now wouldn't it?".
"Yeah, and maybe we can talk to each other to blow off some steam!". Helena smiled and held both of her hands together behind her back, like always. Danny freezed into the position that he was in. He twisted his neck toward her with, yet again, really small pupils that looked like periods in the ending if a sentence.
A few minutes later, Helena and Danny were walking on the path in the park. Children were playing with their dogs, parents were cooking their BBQs, and men and women were having some love moments on the benches. Helena was walking with her hands on her back, again, as Danny had his face same way for the past few minutes. Helena looked at him with a worried face, still wondering why he is acting like the way he is.
"Why are you always like this? Cheer up!".
He stood the same way.
Helena sighed, looking depressed. "I...I'm sorry if I'm doing anything bad".
Then Danny finnaly went back to normal and then looked at Helena with a face meant for understanding. He touched her shoulder, smiling. "It's not your fault. I just act nervous everytime when I'm with you, or when I'm in front of groups of people".
"So, your shy?".
"It maybe hard to believe, but yes".
She giggled. "You look too-".
Danny interuppted,"Cool? Yes, I know, but I'm not. Everyone thinks I'm wierd, except for Zefin. He is the only one that knows that I'm shy, and he understands on why I act wierd".
Helena smiled,"Well I understand too, now do I?".
Danny smiled too,"I guess if a person understands me, I won't be shy to that person anymore".
Then instantly, he just noticed. This was his chance to ask her out. "So um...", but he also noticed that the walk in the park felt like a date already. So, he was scratching his head, trying to get the reputation to say what he needs to say, until he heard a beeping sound from Helena's watch. She switched it off and looked at Danny.
"I'm sorry Danny, but I have to go". She ran to her house.
"I...". He was too late. The ultimate chance was gone, and Danny felt like all hope was lost for the girl he loved. He looked down as a tear was coming off of his eye. He wiped it off and walked misarabley to the fountain in the middle of the park.
