Wow! This second quarter has been so intense. I’ve been so busy with work and stuff that it’s been quite some time since I could make a new journal entry. Most of the problems started two weeks into classes, when Mrs. Flitter broke her leg trying to remove a nest of squirels from her chimney. She should be alright, but won’t be able to resume teaching for a while. In her absence, another of my teachers has taken over Mrs. Flitter’s Practical Gaiamancy classes, none other than Mr. Horitt! Right away, his degrading attitude toward everyone just made my blood boil.

Another strange thing happened. Last night, while I undressed, I tossed my skirt across the room toward the clothes hamper. However, I missed and hit instead Dr. Doby’s cane, which I had propped up against the wall. The cane came down on the floor pretty hard, so at first I thought it had broken. I picked it up, but was surprised to find that the rose-shaped handle had opened up to expose a hidden compartment. I saw something shiny nestled inside. I reached in and removed what turned out to be a ring with a large milky white stone set in it. The gold of the ring itself had some gaiamantic glyphs carved into it, and its large size made it seem like a man’s ring. Does this have something to do with the reason Dr. Doby sent the cane to me and mysteriously departed to some point unkown?
