the little street was coldly lit by an ever dimming lamp. underneth the out line of a distorted figure could be seen. his cape fliitered in the cool evening breaze. he was waiting. waiting for the next. at the other end of the street shane o'maley strolled down the foot path. his steps were filled with joy and elation. he just had the most wonderfull night with the most beautiful girl. she used to sit in front of him untill a few days ago. she had caught him starring at her amzing figure and promptly got up and sat beside him. the next few seconds were the most embariising in his life. the girl, named sarah fisher started up the conversation with the most straight up question shane had ever heard. "what were you looking at?". shane fumbled with his words. sarah quickly stopped him by answering her own question, "dont worry i know what it was". thats where it all started from. almost every night after that they had either been talking over the fone or overa dinner table at a classy resturant.
Now he was on top of the world. as he entered the culder - sac' something caught his eye. he wasnt to sure what it was but he knew that in this neighbour hood he shouldnt stick around to find out. he crossed the road walking at pace towards his house. he hadnt seen the car that had been driven without its lights on, he didnt even really here it. must've been the joy. all he knew was that he was now on the ground the bonnet over half his body. then he saw it. a black robed figure exiting the shadows from behind a house. it swiftly aprroached him. the glint of a sharp mettalic object caught shanes eye. he stared at the figure for what seemed like an eternity. the dark shape now slowly approached shane as if aprhensive. the from its sholder it produced a weapon, a scythe. shane started to scream, not in pain but in shear terror for he new that the figure bearing down on him was death himself.
the drunken driver awoke at his sterring wheel to a slightly high pitched scream. he panicked and tried to find his headlights. as he turned them on he caught a glimpse of what looked like a halloween costume except it wasnt halloween. the image quickly fanished and the screaming stopped. the man got out of his car to see whos life he had taken. he was surprised and quickly horrified to find a man, alive and halfway under his car soaked in blood. he quickly sobered up and dialled 111.
Shane awoke in the hospital. tubes were enter and exiting his swollen body. dried blood was in patches over his bandage skin. he saw his mother and father behind a glass window. he tried to talk but gaged on the tube that was down his throat. the dr walked in and removed the tube. shane's throat burned. he tried to talk again but pain seared through his throat..................
