You love someone but you know
Down deep inside
That they can never love you
And see you the way you see them.
You dream about them every night,
And think of them every waking moment
When you see them your heart flutters
And your stomach ties in knots.
But they just see you as just another person
And ignores your very presence
And in that moment you feel
An indescribable pain
And as your heart shatters
Into a million tiny pieces,
You feel you’ll never love again
Then just one dream,
One song,
One thought,
Can bring their memory back
And just as your heart began to mend,
It breaks all over again.
And you understand then
Just how hard it is to forget a love that hurt you.
Now when you think of them
It brings tears to your eyes
And when you think of what could have been
You just want to swear off love
But you go on living your life
Trying to forget the person you loved
And trying to forget the feelings you had for them
But you know you will never forget them
Or how strong your feelings were
And you will never forget the pain you felt
When it seemed your heart was being
Torn into a million bleeding pieces.
