Hello, my name is Sol Abydos, I live in the beautiful city of Jydann near the Lotta pennisula. It's been about 4 years since I've discovered a secret about myself.
I am a mage.
I live alone with my grand-father Lune in the southern part of the city. We sadly don't have as much money as the northern upper-class but I think we get along just fine. We're not poor, that's for sure, but it would be nice to ride our own Trillian beast and gaze elegantly at the walking townsfolk. Trillians are elegant horse like creatures with gold or silver manes and feathery skirts of different colors. They're not exactly rare but they are extremely difficult to catch and tame. They say it takes at least 2 years to break one. Grandpa-Lune says that with my abilities I may yet achieve such greatness as long as I keep quiet about them.
Like hell I will!

"True, but things are still difficult for mages Sol. You need to stay vigilant. Just cause the population is growing does not mean that you should throw caution to the wind!"
Grandpa-Lune worries too much. Soon, I'll be old enough to apply to the Trinia Magic Academy and we'll see who needs to watch their backs! I don't have any grudges against normal humans but if I can come out on top with my powers, I'll show them who's better. It's true, mages are still not properly accepted but when they see all the good we can do, then I know humans will change their minds.
Hm? Oh, Grandpa-Lune is a human... and I suspect that my parents were too. You mean, you don't know that Mages are born randomly? Hehe, it's time for you to get up to date! Soon, I'll be 15 and I advise you to follow me into the academy once I am accepted... cause I will be. Then you can learn about my world, and about the glittering city that has been named: "The Magic Capital"...
