Suddenly a great calamity happens in the world of your OC(s), a darkness spreads and innocent people are being turned into mindless creatures that serve the calamity. How does your OC react? Do they want to help or hide?

Arin: I think I'd try to help. I always want to do the right thing, but at the same time, I just want to survive. If I can battle this mysterious force safely, I'd help. If there's a high probability I'd turn mush-brained, I think I'd rather hide.
Annie: All about that self-survival, Arin.
Arin: It's a kill or be killed world out there. Quite literally at ACE. Are you suggesting you'd do something different?
Annie: I dunno. Fighting some mysterious entity and be a hero and blah blah is tempting and whatever, but I'd rather just help with evacuations, y'know? I'm good with people, but I'm not good with the whole 'lead-people-into-battle' thing, so I wouldn't be much help for the fight itself.
Arin: "I'm good with people"? (she rolls her eyes, but smiles)
Annie: Yeah, hello? I'm charming AND adorable. I could totally calm down people that are panicking about turning into mindless creatures.
Arin: (laughs) Alright, sure. We both go with "help".

Nik: Ooooh. Interesting concept. How would you define the helping and the hiding?
Yuki: What is there to define?
Nik: Like, help to what extent? Are we building weapons, or leading a resistance against the evil calamity or something? And if we hide, is there a 100% guarantee we're going to be safe?
Min Hyuk: Why are you even asking this? It's pretty obvious you'd march into battle the first chance you get. You're so reckless, needing to flex your leadership skills and all that.
Nik: Woah, hey, okay. I was asking on behalf of you three introverts. I was trying to figure out if there's a use for Yuki and Jace's science-y skills, and your, uh.... uh --
Yuki: "science-y skills"?
Min Hyuk: I'd hide, screw the others. Easy.
Nik: Of course you would. C'mon dude, this is an opportunity to fight evil and be a freaking hero!
Min Hyuk: Or I could just hide and not die. (smirks)
Yuki: Thanks for the support, Min. Glad we have your back if we ever need it.
Min Hyuk: You're welcome.
Nik: (sighs) Jace? Yuki? Answers?
Jace: (after a moment of silence) Developing technologies to fight this so called "evil calamity" seems like it could be a pleasant challenge. I would like to participate in the offensive efforts.
Yuki: Honestly, I think I would hide too. I'm not great under pressure. And I think fighting mindless creatures would be a pretty stressful situation.
Min Hyuk: ...And yet you questioned my decision. Really?
Yuki: My reasoning is that I wouldn't be of use to the fighting. YOU just don't care.
Min Hyuk: Really.
Yuki: Really!
