the Walk
Do you know me?
You think you do,
but nobody does,
I am a shell,
a husk of the person I used to be,
who you used to know.
You don't understand,
I chose to walk in my darkness,
not you.
You try to follow me,
to save me,
you udon't realize it,
it's killing you.
I chose my path,
so I won't fell the pain,
not you.
Don't you see?
I'm here,
standing where there is no return,
yet you follow me,
I yell, scream at you to turn back,
but you don't listen.
As I turn away in tears,
you don't understand,
I walk alone.
I watched you die,
the tears in your eyes,
you cry for help, I turn away.
You don't understand,
I walk alone.
I wrote this poem because I know someone in my life, and for the life of me, they don't understand how I feel, what she is doing to herself, following me blindly in my darkness. my friend read this poem and didn't understand what it meant. What does that tell you???
