To wear or not to wear? That is the question. I have asthma and have been noticing that my breathing has been getting slightly heavier since I started wearing a mask. There are legitimate concerns over wearing a mask, and one is that I don't receive as much oxygen as most people do, especially while wearing a mask. I tried working out in one and found that I can't even do half an average set that I can do without a mask. This, to me, is a real problem. I do not know all the long term problems that arise from wearing a mask, but I do know that any situation where I am gasping for air needs to be changed.

I will continue to wear a mask, but sneaking breaths has become common for me. It is important that I wear a mask because it prevents the spread of my germs. I hope that others have the same consideration I do for the health of their own community in that wearing a mask is for the safety of others. To not wear a mask is selfish, as it reveals someone as uncaring for others who are susceptible to illness. Some of the guys I work with have poor immune systems, one has such a poor immune system coupled with breathing difficulties that he was told that if he were to catch the Coronavirus he would have a low chance of surviving. I wear a mask out of respect and compassion for those I work with.

I wish I knew more about the science behind these masks, but all I have is observation. Perhaps I'll look into it and discover something new? I wonder who out there is lying, because someone is always stretching the truth somewhere.
