I had to euthanize three more mice today. Practiced tail veins on them before that.
They have rather sad lives.
The lab gets them 8-10 weeks old. We perform window chamber surgeries when they're around 4-6 weeks older (depends on the lab schedule). After the surgeries, they live for no more than 2 more weeks.
At least..they aren't in pain anymore.
Just watching them..shuddering as they draw their last breaths..
It's all imprinted in my mind, and I will carry their deaths with me as a reminder for the purpose of the experiments.
