Monsters Inhabit the Lands that make up the 5 Kingdoms and often cause problems for the People, Creatures, and Animals of the Lands there are many many Types of Monsters and new ones are being found all the time what defines what a Monster is is when a Monster is defeated instead of going into a Death Coma it collapes and fades away often dropping items, gil, and weapons they also share the protection blessing that Races, Creatures, and Animals share and they seem to appear out of nowhere when nobodies looking
Where Monsters Come From
Nobody knows exactly where Monsters come from and them fading away upon defeat has puzzled Scholars for a long time nobody knows how Monsters appear either as nobody has ever seen them give birth though small baby Monsters have been found and some rare monsters can spawn other Monsters but thats more of a ability most of the time they just seem to appear when nobody is looking also things made by Races like Ancient Machina can become Monsters too and people have even been known to be turned into Monsters but this is extremely rare and only happens by accident or if the person wanted to be turned into a Monster
Origin Legends
There are many Legends about where monsters come from but the most common and widely accepted one is where theres a Monster World with a Monster King/God when a Monster is defeated it fades away and its soul returns to the Monster World usually in its previous form where it rests until ready when ready it is sent back to our world its previous lifes memories and memories of the Monster World are sealed away and it is reborn as a new Monster
Monster Power
There is also a Legend though its been proven to be more then a Legend but is not yet a proven fact of a Monster Power this power is what makes Machina, Undead and People who have turned into Monster like creatures Monsters by giving them the ability to fade away and giving them the Protection blessing that Races, Creatures, and Animals share this is the same power that creates Fiends as well
Fiends
Fiends are a strange sub-type of Monster almost any Monster can be a Fiend what a Fiend is is when a person dies a bad or sudden death and can't move on most of these souls then start to hate the living and when they're hate gets strong enough the Monster Power grants them a living form as a Monster when a person is turned into a Fiend they no longer think like a person because they are blinded by the hate they have for the living and are always agressive Fiends that hold alot of hate for the Living tend to be stronger and some Fiends have been known to Oversoul when they enter battle when they Oversoul they become much stronger and harder to beat Fiends were a major problem after the Great Wars as there was alot of people who died badly or suddenly but now they are much rarer its hard to tell a Fiend from any other Monster at first glance unless they Oversoul usually aside from Oversouling you can only tell once you've defeated them because upon defeat they fade away like most Monsters but also a ball of what looks like flame, mist, water, or just light will float up a bit then fade away people found that by defeating Fiends you free the persons soul and most can then move on though there are some that have such strong hatred that they are reborn again usually as a even stronger Fiend these are very dangerous Fiends now not all people who die bad or sudden deaths become Fiends they usually become whats called Unsent and don't hold hatred for the Living though Unsent have been known to become Fiends too if hatred develops
Monster Intelligence
Most Monsters are fairly Intelligent they're Intelligence ranges from alittle more then a Animal but alittle less then a Race (less then most Pokemon to) but there are some Monsters that are as intelligent as animals and some even less then that and some with no intelligence those are ones that run purely on Instinct, command, or programing like Machina and some Undead and on the other hand there are Monsters that are as intelligent and sometimes more so then the Races these Monsters tend to be really dangerous but are rare
Tamed Monsters
People have learned how to tame some of the stronger Monsters that appeared after the 4 Elemental Crystals shattered because of Monsters fair amount of intelligence people have trained them how to do things like play a part in a game like in Chocosports and Monster Games they are also sometimes used in battle but this is very rare and some even keep them as pets Taming Monsters isn't easy especially not Non-Agressive ones it takes alot of time and love and Fiends are untameable
Why Monsters Attack
Most Monsters will attack people on sight there are various reasons why Monsters attack People and sometimes Creatures and Animals but there are two main reasons one is that most Monsters are very territorial and don't like People in they're Territory they don't mind other Monsters and most will gladly team up with other Monsters who share the Territory to rid it of the people in it though there are times when some Monsters are so Territorial that they will attack anything that enters they're Territory even other Monsters the other reason is some types of Monsters have a outright dislike or hatred of people and will attack them on sight especially Fiends these are the two main reasons but theres alot of reasons why Monsters attack like they are Guardian something or they are malfunctioning(Machina), or they are being controled which can happen because some evil person or Monster is controling them but this is very rare and the person or Monster has to be very strong also there are some Monsters that are just outright evil or highly malicious but these to are rare now there are Monsters that are Non-Agressive these Monsters only attack if attacked first or if bothered like some dislike Magic so using magic near them will anger them and they will attack but most of the time Non-Agressive Monsters will ignore people and in rare cases some will even help people
Food and Sleep
Monsters don't have to eat nor do they have to sleep but most do because they like to and many Monsters have a regular sleep pattern as if they did need to sleep and most Monsters are vunerable to sleep spells and abilities most Monsters also do tire and need to rest
Undead and Ghosts
There are Undead Monsters and Ghost Monsters most Ghost and Undead Monsters are purely that Monsters but there are some Ghost Monsters that are not Fiends but are the souls of people who have become Ghost Monsters they always become Ghost Type Monsters and while not Fiends when defeated a soul can be seen fading away which led many to think these Lost Ghosts as they are known are Fiends except they are not Fiends also these Ghosts are often as if was once alive or close to if purely a monster a races intelligence and arn't always blinded by hate like Fiends but do tend to be full of malice Undead also are like this but there are some foolish enough to raise the dead and try to bind them to their will which almost never works the second they are raised they become monsters these are souless corpses and act purely on instict which is to attack anything really except other Monsters
