I was born in a small village known as Knoll. It was a peacful town, full of farmers. The inhabitents of Knoll where perfectly happy, until the creatures came. Nobody knows where or how they came, but they came. Creatures who should not be living... rotten things from beyond the grave... unholy abominations that would suck the soul from a person, leaving only an empty husk. The creatures devoured the people, and only a few survived, one being my mother, who was pregnant with me. I would be born within the month. One day, in the night, when the few remaining villagers where asleep, huddled into a barracaded cottage, the things attacked. The villagers where awoken when the hand of a creature burst through the front door, leaving a hole the size of a grapefruit in it. As it tore through the door, other's joined it. After the wall was down, the creatures entered. In the dull flicker of candlelight, it's face could be seen... it was my father's carcas. His skull was torn open on the left side, and his neck hung at an unnatural angle. His right arm was hewn off at the wrist, and his ribs stuck haphazardly through his flesh. At the sight, my mother screamed, running for her life from the things, while the rest of the villagers fell in the onslaught. She escaped... but only just. It was not long before she stumbled upon a band, and they took the frantic woman who was my mother in. When they arrived at a small castle, owned by a certain Lord Vincant Kancara. They left my mother in his care, knowing he was a nobel man, who would care for the crazed woman well. It is there that I was born. My mother died in labor.
