Inspiration turned Fiction
I'm bored and interested in writing, that's all the reason and the description that I need for this...
Sentient Blades
The Sentient Blades.

Legends.

Many believed the Guild was founded by Immortals. People that were chosen to represent the Old Gods on Tyria and smite the wicked on their quest for global ruin. Fuuin of the God of Fire; Balthazar. Yamashii of the Goddess of Life; Dwayna. Doutei of the Goddess of Nature; Melandru. Aura of the Goddess of Illusions; Lyssa. Green of the God of Death; Grenth. And last was Anne of the Goddess of Truth; Kormir.

Each was chosen for specific traits. Fuuin was chosen for his sadistic tendencies on the battlefield in the name of his kingdom. Yamashii was chosen for her gift of healing. Doutei was chosen for her tender care of nature itself. Aura for the cunning trickery she unleashed on her opponents. Green for his mastered necromancy. And the weakest was Anne. She was unsuited to open fighting but she was unparalleled in torture and interrogation. Her manner of obtaining the truth.

All of the records on this fabled group was lost in the passage of time. However, most of the scholars in the Asura homeworld were able to gleam that the Sentient Blades were active from the creation of the world to shortly after the end of the Guild Wars. It was they who stopped the fighting at the behest of the Gods. They marched on the opposing sides and single-handedly defeated them in one fell swoop. After fulfilling this final task, the Immortal warriors faded into history as legends.

People looked for the Sentient Blades in hopes of bringing forth the strongest fighters the world had ever known. Or in the intentions of less, pure-hearted individuals... to claim the power of the Immortals as their own. None of them were able to succeed in this self-assigned task. Immortals were notoriously difficult to pinpoint as they had the experience of multiple lifetimes. Hiding was rather simple for someone of their caliber.

Then the Sentient Blades were forgotten.

Tyria doubted the existence of Immortals. Or the chosen of the Old Gods. Surely no one was immune to the heavy hand of time, save for the entities that created them. After centuries and centuries of hiding in the shadows, the Sentient Blades were fables. Nothing more. Fables that were passed from parent to child to amaze them with tales of almighty warriors.

Men that were capable of ripping the earth asunder.

Women that breathed life into statues to wreak havoc in their name.

Inspiration.

Legends.

Some of the children were later encouraged by the legend of the Sentient Blades and rose to prominent places in history. Heroes. And none of them compared to any of the stories told by their parents and their grandparents before them. Defeating a Dragon with their hands? Fuuin was prominently featured in stories as the only warrior to achieve that. Green wasn't far behind with tales of summoning entire armies of the undead to obey his every command.

Yamashii.

Yamashii was on another level entirely.

She was given the “Breath of Life” in many of her stories. Bringing statues to life to assist her in battle was her moniker because of her inability to fight in close quarters. Her spear often made up for that when her minions were defeated. Yama's ability with the pole-arm was only rivaled by the chosen of Melandru. Her twin sister. Doutei.

But that was neither here nor now.

As the return of the Elder Dragons commenced, so to did the reunion of the legendary Guild.

Yamashii let the smile blossom on her face prominently as she watched the gathering of her friends, her closest companions. Most of whom she hadn't seen in well over five-hundred years! Usually in passing as the group refused to risk the outside world finding them for such reasons as nostalgia or being homesick. Now was the exception, however. She had felt the calling of Zhaitan as he rose from his resting place.

The Guild hadn't seen the beast since the original Guild Wars.

All in due time, she told herself. Instead she contented herself with looking on as the Immortals began to arrive one by one. Fuuin was the first. He was straying toward the rear of the room and inspecting his ancient war axe for signs of misuse. The occasional spark across his left hand bellied the fact that he was also testing his Pyromancy.

Aura was the second to arrive. She was eating in the dining room and, if the chosen of Dwayna chose to pay attention, the occasional ripple in the air betrayed her use of illusions. She was constantly under some kind of illusion. Even in the past when the Guild was active in the world's events. Probably to divert attention from her.

Green was third on the list of Immortals. He was accompanied by his familiar. Neko yawned from her perch on his shoulders and licked at her paw absentmindedly. The feline was bored beyond belief and likely would be for the duration of the gathering. Poor creature, the woman idly noted. She would find her some milk later on in the day if she was still here.

Anne was the fourth to walk through the door of Yamashii's home. Her regal cloak was breathtaking in complexity with the design alone and the slight jingle as she walked told the older Immortal she was carrying her tools of trade. The woman shuttered at that thought. They were almost opposites in terms of personality. Yamashii cherished life. Anne ripped them apart.

Doutei was the last one. And the most anticipated. It was like seeing herself in the mirror when her twin walked through the door and she lunged at her. Dou was momentarily surprised when she was hugged before smiling warmly and returning the embrace. Neither of the siblings had seen each other for much longer than five-hundred years. Doutei was the explorer type and had vanished off the face of the continent in search of land untouched.

There the Sentient Blades were. Gathered under one roof for the first time in centuries! It was miraculous in terms of rarity but the reason was much more dire. As she released her sister and looked at the others, all of them knew that the return to arms was at hand. Each of them gave their own little smile at the thought. “To the Elder Dragons, we unleash the wrath of millennia. Are you all prepared to face the strongest foes we'd encountered since the Guild Wars, brothers and sisters?”

Fuuin was the only one to respond. He gave the response that the others had in mind yet wouldn't speak in fear of sounding immature. “This'll be a walk in the park.”
