My family is preparing a New Year's dinner. I really don't know what to call it, since we're probably having it at midnight, so I'll just say "dinner".

Do you put the period before the quotation mark or after? How can I not know this? I'll find out soon enough.

Should I just use italics? Are italics even appropriate in this situation?

Title drop: I very much enjoy Anti-Idle: The Game from Kong. I love playing it. I do not know why.
