NY Day 1--July 13th
Today we got up around noon. I slept like a baby! We're staying in the finished basement and the bed has a nice memory foam thing on it ^.^

Anyway...for breakfast (or lunch if you prefer) I had my first NY bagel (with cream cheese). It was very yummy 4laugh

After getting dressed, we headed out for the day. First we walked around his neighborhood. The homes are cute and old, which I looooove! Practically every street is a one way and everyone parks in front of their house. There's a nice breeze coming off the ocean so you don't really sweat that much.

We got toward the end of his neighborhood, we came to the docks of the bay. People have some nice boats! *jealous* After this we walked around the wreck center. It has like every sports field imaginable and even an indoor heated pool!

Next we walked into the heart of his town. The shops are all right next to eachother which to me is so cool. Everything is close knit and in walking distance, therefore a lot of people walk. There are more drivers than walkers, but not by much. Today we only went into 1 store, 7-11, to get drinks. Later this week we'll go shopping for souvenirs mrgreen

We made one small stop at the post office because Joe wanted me to see a painting of the Native Americans trading with Europeans. Based on the architecture, the post office had to have been built in the early 1900s.

After the post office we went to 7-11. Then we went to his old house. Joe and his family are currently living in their renovated aunt's home, which they inherited when she passed away a few years ago.

Next we walked to the boardwalk! Yes, I said a boardwalk. It spans almost the entire length of the town (2mi out of 3.9mi). This weekend it will be filled with tents for it's annual arts and crafts festival. But normally, it's occupied with hotels and apartment buildings on one side and the beach (and ocean) on the other side. We didn't go on the beach during the day because it costs money. So we just walked on the boardwalk.

Once we had our fill, we headed back home. Boy my feet were tired and achy. sweatdrop lol

After a nice shower and dinner, we headed to his Aunt Shelly's house for his cousin's birthday party. To put it nicely, that side of his family is nuts...@.@ confused

Once it go dark, Joe and I left. We returned to the beach (since it's free after 6:30pm) for a moonlight stroll. It was very beautiful ^.^
Then all of a sudden we saw flashing police lights on a bridge in the distance. eek Then there were cop cars driving on the beach. There were even two helicopters with spotlights flying over the ocean along with police boats. Apparently they were looking for someone. ninja

After about an hour at the beach we came back home for some much needed rest.

Goodnight. Ttyt
