the oh so many stories.
This is where I shall put many of my stories, chapter by chapter. I am currently working on 'The story of the forgotten child.' Please read, and oh so please give feed back!
Prologue:
The happy single mother held her four year-olds hand as they crossed the street. The young girl happily held her mother’s hand and skipped alongside her, enjoying the warm, spring day. The cars were waiting for the light to go green, but at the same time, the two were hurrying over to the other side before the cars had the ‘to go’.
They had almost made it to the other side when a black, sleek truck came speeding by. All seemed well, until the wheels went across a small oil spill and started to spin out of control, turning the truck in the wrong direction, and directly at the two. The mother looked to the side and saw the car coming, and in a split second she grabbed her child and threw her, right as the car came in contact with her, pinning her up against the pole.
Almost instantly, the mother was killed. The child, however, had landed on the sidewalk, skidding against the ground and bumping her head up against the sidewalk. She was rendered unconscious. In matter of minutes, sirens could be heard approaching at fast speeds as they navigated around the traffic.
When they arrived, a group immediately ran to where the mother was, hoping to be able to pry her away from the car and pole. The scene was horrendous. Blood dripped and splattered from the body, painting the ground in a deep crimson red, mixed with bits and pieces of debris from the car. The mother’s head was hanging limp, no part of her body moving. Even if she did make it out alive, she would either be disabled for the rest of her life, or even worse, in a deep coma. When they did, however, retrieve her, no hope glimmered for her. She was long dead.
Three paramedics quickly went to the young girl while the others went to the mother and were slightly relieved to find that she was still alive, but with a severe concussion. A bluish purple bruise started to form on her forehead, oddly colored and disorientated. As they have many times before, the paramedics loaded the young girl onto the stretcher and into the ambulance, where from there, she was sent straight to the hospital …
