Edit 1: I updated the colors! I went back and re-read this stuff. I thought, after all this time, that I may have over reacted, in which case I owed some apologies. Nope. In retrospect I'm the only one who wasn't over reacting. I still feel I was wronged and a victim of some serious and crafty trolling here. Read on to see why~

Edit 2: Also, I'm putting names back in. It's defiantly been long enough. If they come after me now that's just amazing and I can report them for harassment. Tyndall and Cronus are still on good terms to this day, even after all this. These people are obviously not the type of people you want to be associated with. Also, PLEASE don't believe any of their explanations that blame all of this on me and paint me as a horrible person @_@

I recently ran into a case of Insane Troll Logic.

This situation started when I became Vice Captain to a certain guild [Titan Senshi]. Before reading this, I would like everyone to know that I was told to clean up the fellow crew members [By their Captain, TS Sailor Cronus] by checking their activity and to clean up/handle/etc the sub forums located in the guild. I was also told to specifically work on getting the guild active. Even just the 'to add activity' part was a lot of work really, the crew hadn't been active for months and the sub forums were severely neglected. Also, before the captain left, the fellow VC that did much of the trolling [Adrian Tyndall] here complained about doing work directly to the captain, so not only was inactive but clearly showed was unwilling to become active. It was only after I started cleaning up the rather dusty guild that all the sudden a certain VC decided to freak out and told me I was "running the guild into the ground." Also, I was also told I made "too many changes" when all I did was move threads to specific sub forums, almost all of which should have been moved forever ago but never were by the lazy crew. The rest of my activity was posting the specific mythology that the guild was based on, which had never been done by anyone in the guild. Keep all this in mind while reading below. Also, the captain specifically said she was going on hiatus for an unspecified amount of time, and logged back on daily since.

Just to make myself perfectly clear: I did not delete anything at all during my time as vice captain.

First we have someone, who had NOTHING to do with this at all and sent me this in a lovely PM:

I'm pretty sure what happened here is that he [Tyndall] didn't like me and decided to get his friends to bother me in an attempt to make himself look innocent. To be fair she was probably the most polite out of anyone. However I told her to please stay out of it, she 'quit' as well, which isn't saying much because I'm 90% sure she was a mule. And she didn't leave the guild. So yeah.

Now we have what a fellow VC [Tyndall] thinks of his guild and how he treats fellow members:

The people who are really capable of bringing life and activity to the guild have either moved on to other guilds and just flat out don't care about [Titan Senshi] anymore, or they've become too busy with life and have either left Gaia altogether, or only visit Gaia for the space of about five minutes every day. That's not enough to keep an active guild running, let alone revive a dead one.

Is that why I added over 1000 posts to the guild? Oh what's that? I also added 20+ literate, active members. That's TOTALLY a dead guild.
Obviously beforehand they had seen a drop of activity. That's why I was told to get the guild active. That's WHY I was doing what I was doing.

With those options, I would ultimately have no choice but to leave, because your definition of a "happier place" clearly leaves no room for realism.

Realism? Again, over 1000 posts and adding active members, all that stuff. That's not being realistic after all. Nope. Helping the guild is BAD. Keep that in mind folks. Also, this particular VC had 'to leave the [Titan Senshi] guild a minimum of twice before this incident.

Is that why I posted stating all the changes, sent an announcement stating all the changes, and also stating that after these changes the sub forums would be reassigned properly to active members. I've also been talking to you this whole time about it, and only in the last hour you've been pissed off. Nope. I'm the one that doesn't communicate. Remember kids: Telling people what you're doing/going to do isn't communicating.

Honestly, as soon as he snapped he began cursing and acting overall vile to everyone. Oh, by the way, he was perfectly fine with everything that was going on until I locked the inactive threads of 'his' sub-forum. Said sub-forum had been inactive for a few months.

That's the other thing I hate. That you can be such a rude, vindictive, usurping little pain in the a**, and still post up all manner of things that are supposed to be cute and cuddly and pink and... just generally sickening.

Remember kids: When someone has been trolling you for the past day and a half YOU'RE the rude one. Also remember that having a positive attitude is BAD. Also remember that doing your job is BAD.
This is also, clearly, trolling. Even if my actions were as *heinous* as he/they said they were I never said/did anything of this caliber. Shows a lot of maturity doesn't it?

Obviously he [Tyndall] is the main reason why things went downhill so quickly. I think in his mind I was some sort of threat or something. Maybe he's the type of person that doesn't like change. I really don't know, but he's obviously not very respectful about it.

Ok what's going on here is that he made a very, very nasty post directed at me (it's where a lot of the above quotes come from) and I sent to over to her [Cronus] in a PM. I quoted him [Tyndall] and put it in the guild too. I thought that would show the fellow crew members of the [Titan Senshi] guild how vile he was being...but then I got this and I can't even.

Also, please, read this:

It's painfully obvious at this point that the captain [Cronus] is completely ignorant of ToS and is prone to playing favorites as opposed to listening to reason. I also have no idea where the gets the notion that making e-mails you receive public is illegal?~?

Yeah okay, here...I'm really not sure where she's [Cronus] coming from honestly. She made a thread saying 'you all need to apologize' to each other basically. It was in the 'crew only' sub forum and obviously she wanted me to apologize to him so everything could go back to being a-ok in her world. I quoted his post and said 'I'm not giving an apology unless he's removed' and then she sent me this. I don't consider that an 'attack' on someone other than me. It was after this that I discovered she went along deleting several of my posts and started sending out stuff that basically boiled down to 'ignore everything this user has done' (my username was different at the time). As if an apology thread would take back all the trolling I had to deal with and it had all been my fault that everything went down hill. As if I was the one acting out of control and manipulating people. I wouldn't be surprised to find if he [Tyndall] had been doing such behind the scenes.

So if it isn't obvious after these people had blown up in my face I quit.

BTW: I also donated over 15000 gold to this guild. Looks like they totally appreciated that! I had also made a new banner for the guild that I had gotten specific praise on before this all went down and then it became 'hideous'.

So if you don't know, this is how this guild [Titan Senshi] handles things. Obviously they have an odd way of handling things there. Quoting is wrong apparently (really? I mean...just really?), and also posting is bad as well (I...I don't...). It may be best for you to avoid that place all together, because ya know, helping them out is bad (the principle of it all, I mean really?). I won't be surprised if this very journal is considered trolling to them. Because I was wronged for trying to help out and doing what I was told/had permission for doing.

Alright, let's turn this whole negative experience into a positive advice giving situation. I would like to remind fellow guild owners to watch out who they appoint as crew. Crew members, specifically Vice Captains can actually take over your guild if you're inactive for 60 days. Also, I encourage Captains to ban rude/trolling/problematic crew members, especially if you have seen evidence of their trolling ways. (Why would you delete all the evidence? That's directly protecting them! It's blatantly playing favorites.) I've encountered a handful of rude crew members on quite a few guilds (mostly the one's I've quit.) and I feel it's a big problem. Especially if you have someone who pushes their weight around, I would suggest demoting them.

On a related note, when appointing crew look at what they've done for the guild. If they're in charge of something are they keeping it active? Are they posting often? Do they donate gold? Be careful on who you approve and disapprove of on your guilds and things will just go easier. I personally avoid having a lot of crew members just to prevent drama. Also, don't be afraid to back up your own rules! If you want a crew member to do something and they don't then demote them! You have the power to control who runs your guild. Fellow Captains, you should also be VERY aware of the ToS. ToS is your friend, not your enemy. We have certain powers as guild owners and also guild crew, your decisions directly impact what is going to happen to your guild. If you're choosing to be ignorant of the rules on Gaia, you're choosing to make poor decisions concerning your guild. Guilds are a big responsibility so make sure you don't bite off more then you can chew.

If you have someone who posts, posts meaningful and informative threads, donates money, reports offending members and screens and invites high-post members then why would you say that they're being a troll? Also, when you have someone specifically bother you and gang up on a member until they're gone, shouldn't that be a red alarm? ESPECIALLY if that crew member wasn't doing their job in the first place? Make better decisions Guild Captains. Make. Better. Decisions.
