"Our lecture today is about protists and their organelles. It's a most fascinating topic because unlike bacterium they have many different compartments..." Miss Turry began her lesson. She was very passionate about her subject, biology and if it were up to her class would last all day. Her students were a elelectic group. Some were just as zealous as she was, and others were apathetic spending the hour scribbling notes back and forth or sleeping. No matter what one did in class, no one wanted to incur the wrath of their professor. While she was usually cool headed and allowed the students to have some liberties, she became a nightmare if one proceeded to do one of her pet peeves. One of which was being late, quite unfortunate for the scatter-brained Nakuya.
Fifteen minutes after the lecture had begun Nakuya Jones pulled the oak door of the classroom open and poked her head in. Miss Turry swung her head toward the sound and set her chalk down as she moved away from the black board.
"You're late," was all she stated. Miss Turry's eyes narrowed and her brow furrowed. This seemed to be the routine everyday Naku had biology class.
"What excuse have you this time?" The professor crossed her skinny arms infront of herself. Some of the class snickered, knowing what would happen next.
Nakuya lived a different reality from the rest of the world, and completely believed every figment of her imagination was true. The usual stories she spouted were about how she defended the academy from a vicious dragon or a band of robbers had stopped her on her way to class, of course she defeated all of her foes valiently.
As she stepped into the room, she began to whimper. Miss Turry's eyes widened, never had she seen Nakuya so devastated. Lectures could wait, Nakuya had more than a fable to tell. Just this once Miss Turry would let this tardy slide, "Class dismissed," she yelled, "Nakuya Jones, please come to my office."
