Valken is an bounty hunter for hire based out of New Orleans. Her heritage proves rather handy in her line of work. Vampires are based out of demons. And if a vampire bites a human but does not turn them, and the human becomes pregnant, the result is a ghoul. Ghouls are flesh eaters, with great agility and acrobatic skills. They aren't as strong as their vampiric parents, and don't have an aversion to sunlight. They do sunburn easily, and get very sleepy while the sun is out.
Valken practices a mix of Voodoo and Wicca, along with quite a bit of necromancy. Obviously she turned out goth. How could you not?
