Once upon a time there lived an unhappy peasant girl named Madi. ;D
no sun contest
Character: Luka
Reaction: Tired, whatahfuh?

Phone call from a freaking out Vincent wakes him up to see that it's 12:30 and completely dark out. Nothing can explain it, it just is. Luka freaks out a bit and goes to meet Vincent and Iggy to figure out what in the world is going on.

On the way weirdo conspiracy dudes are all TOLD YOU SO! Luka finds trouble there and ends up in a fight with some dude trying to kill a crazy conspiracy dude.

News report. Cain assures that everything is fine. Luka swears at the tv and goes to find Vincent and Iggy.

It was just a dream. It was all in his head. Shaking and vibrating the ground around him undulated with the many cellular phones that covered the hardwood floor. Every phone he attempted picking up there was no answer. Every ring he would silence, another would fill it's place.

The sound of howling was what actually woke Luka. He wrenched his eyes open and searched for the source of the noise. To his surprise, he couldn't immediately place where he was. He thought he had slept for a long time, but it was still black as midnight in his bedroom.

Since his eyes failed him, Luka felt around with his hands to find a large furry creature whipping around at him. He opened his eyes again and found the mutt he had adopted smacking it's large jowls and almost smiling at the tired male. "Phideaux, wha' gives?"

Tiredly, Luka ruffled the dog's blonde fur and turned back to his window, the dream already disappearing from his memory. He laid down again and watched the light of his neighbor's porch light cast slanted shadows against his the fair skin of his arm.

A distinct buzzing sound came from the floor of the tired male's bedroom. Slightly confused Luka reached down and picked up the device just as the actual ringing began. "Vincent, what the hell do you want? Do you know what time it is?" He sleepily demanded staring out into the blackness of the world. He figured it was four or so in the morning.

"Yes, Luka, I am perfectly aware of the time. Are you!?" His best friend's voice was urgent and somewhat distressed. Luka rolled his eyes and looked at his clock which read 13:02.

Luka scoffed, "My clock's just broken, dude. Not a big deal." He reached for the digital watch on his nightstand. It read 13:03 and 32 seconds. "Th-this can't be right... I just changed the battery in this last week..."

"You see what I mean? This isn't normal, Luka. Every single clock at mine and Iggy's house. On the computer, on the T.V.--everywhere. Luka the clocks aren't wrong..." Vincent paused, Luka could imagine his mahogany eyes searching around a darkened room trying to make sense of the situation, "The sky is."

Now that he had mentioned it, Luka noticed that the sky was twinkling with small golden lights, but the moon was also gone. "What was the moon phase yesterday?" He asked.

Vincent paused again," It was waning... I don't know, I wasn't really paying attention,"

"Vincent," Luka began as he opened his shutters, peering out into the unusual blackness, "It's not just the sun... It's like the moon as gone out, too," Luka threw himself out of the bed, his dog's large tail thumping against his mattress. "Is Iggy with you?"

The male on the phone replied,"No, I called him an hour ago. We'll meet at The Usual Spot, okay? I'll bring Iggy. Does your car work yet?"

Luka was too preoccupied to answer, he was running a frantic hand through his golden blonde hair as he switched through every news channel. Each one had nicely dressed men and women with stoic expressions saying all the same things.

"--event has scientists baffled. British astronomer John Smith explains his hypo--"He changed the channel, unable to hear whatever this man's scientific outlook on the situation. It was all a lie, after all, it was just another dream.

Little white letters in the top right corner indicated that this particular broadcast is ''Live.' A man in a messy white suit held up a pile of crumpled parchment with cryptic writing covering the torn paper. A woman's voice voiced over the poorly taken video clip, "Dozens of riots have already broken out along the we--"

"--Claims to know--"
"--Falling into a perpetual--"
"--Panic."

The only thing that would calm the dismay and confusion settling in the young male.Every newscaster's face seemed to be emotionless but their eyes held a fear that every person in the small northern California town that Luka had hauled up in.

His heartbeat was rapidly growing in speed as he stared in shock at his own terrified face gaped right back at him. "Luka? Luka are you there? Luka!"

"Y-Yeah... I'm here..." He mumbled, "I'll find you guys... I'll see you.... I'll see you there..." He didn't wait for Vincent to reply, he killed the call and dropped the phone before dashing outside, his mind racing and heart pounding an erratic rhythm through his head.

The air outside was freezing cold and the streets were buzzing with confusion and excitement. There was a screeching a few blocks over, but Luka didn't notice. He was staring at the sky. Beautiful as it was, the sight terrified the blonde teen.

He rushed past people, elbowing and pushing through the crowds, not a soul noticed because they, too, were in a frenzy. Luka was on high alert, his blue eyes shifting and wide.
