Greetings from the Dimensional Nexus
The Mother

Zipherion Nejestaraphu, Mother, and Goddess of the Nexus. For the Goddesses Eighteen, and the quest to maintain the balance, she is where it all begins. Her origins are unknown, even to herself. Her power is nearly absolute. Within her lies the power of all the other goddesses, as well as the power to cover many things they do not cover. Most notably, she is a goddess of time. The time pause bubbles I was in while training, and taking the trials, were created by her. The loops in the timeline that allow us to do a great many things in a short time were woven by her. She can also extend and compress time. For instance, though I am mortal, I have far greater longevity because she has extended my life span, and compressed the rate at which I age. Don't ask how it's possible. I did, and what she said led me to believe that time doesn't actually exist. Yet another thing I'll never understand.

Zipherion Nejestaraphu. Quite a mouthful, eh? Now you know why we stick to Mother. I can tell you, pronounce the 'j' in Nejestaraphu like an 'h'. Beyond that, you can figure it out just like I did. Slowly and with time. Still, it's a pretty name for a truly beautiful existense. Once she realized she was alive and had a great power, she could have done anything. What she chose to do was try and bring all the universes as close to a peaceful balance as possible. Likley, that is her purpose, but there is nothing she is aware of that forcers her to carry it out. It turned out to be too much for one being, though, so she created the other sixteen goddesses. Later, she fell in love with a mortal, and he fathered Princess Skye. She says little else on her past, and almost nothing on her love. Though one time she commented that I'd be able to understand him well if we met. I can only imagine that perhaps he was the first caretaker and warrior. Pure speculation on my part, though.

Speaking of warriors, she was also the first to notice the effects of what we call demons. Not what you may think of, like vampires and such, but beings created of unbalanced will, that can push the universe toward greater imbalance. Left unchecked, these beings could corrupt and choke entire worlds until nothing was left alive. So, the Mother fought back against them, with the help of her goddesses, and it wasn't long before she noticed that some of them had souls of thier own. Once again, she could have just destroyed them, but she chose instead to save them, balancing them into relatively normal mortal beings, most of which chose to serve her.

So yeah, she's pretty great. Would you really expect any less. What to say about her personally? Well, she spends much of her time existing on plains I cannot travel to, so I don't have a perfect picture. I know that she's kind and caring of course, and mostly serious. She tends to be quiet, and enjoys letting the other goddesses work things out on their own. She's a big proponant of free will, but she'll step in and help out if she needs to. Her free time is also spent mostly observing the other goddesses, and I think I understand why. She's been around a while, see, and I think she's done just about everything there is to do. Not that I'd dare ask her what her age is. And who cares? She beautiful either way, and I think she honestly enjoys watching the fruits of her creation prosper. It's one of the reasons I take such pride in my caretaker job. If caring for her daughters and helping them through their daily lives in any way makes her happy, then it is truly an honor. Essentially, I guess Mother is quite appropriate for her.

She's still as normal as she can be, though. I even do caretaking for her every once in a blue moon. I doubt she actually needs my help to figure anything out; it's more likely that I'm just the nearest and most trusted mortal to which she can bounce off ideas and gain a mortal perspective. It took me long time to be able to approach her without being bogged down by my respect for her, though. So this led to some awkward moments. See, pretty much all of them love to dance, and the caretaker is certain to be asked. Now, I never danced in my normal life, so I had to be taught, and even then, woo I'm dancing with goddesses. Takes some getting used to, I'll tell ya (though I'm always happy to appese Windy in this regard). Anyway, I was still shocked the first time she wanted me to dance with her on Grace Sings night. I was nervous all over again. True, it wasn't quite as close as with the others, but then, I'm not her great mortal love so that's understandable. Yet it's still an oddly intimate place to find yourself with a true Goddess. I'm better at not being surprised now, though. She wants to be treated like normal, and I oblige that as best as I am able.

In battle. Well, both her and Skye can do pretty much anything, and it's tough to describe. Obviously there are the time pause bubbles. Sadly I can't apply them to just me and take everything else out, but at least I don't lose time from my life while out on the job (of course some days have lasted more than a year for me. ::shiver: smile . I know I said I'd describe it, but now that I'm up against it, it's really just too difficult to put into words just what the Goddesses of the Nexus do for me in battle. The only other thing to mention is that they are the ones that allow me to teleport, both through individual universes, and between them.

So yeah I think I've gone on about her for long enough now. That covers my introductions to the Goddesses Eighteen. I hope it's been at least interesting. Have a pleasant existence.
