A Walk in the Rain
The day was grey and not a bit of sunshine to be seen.Rixa hadn't been feeling like herself since she returned from the Land of Dragons.Riku had tried to talk to her, but she shooed him away every time he came even one inch close to the door.She didn't want to see him, it was too much.Searching through the closet, she pulled out a red shirt with black rune designs on it, a black skirt, a pair of black leggings that ended a little above the knee, and gray tennis shoes.From the table next to her bed, she took out a pair of grey arm warmers.She undressed herself and started changing into her new clothes, humming to herself.Her hair had started getting close to the same length it was before the accident with her sword and she was a bit happy.She tried to get her bangs to stop covering her right eye, but they kept fighting with her, refusing to stay behind her ear.Giving up, she looked at herself in the mirror and sighed.Long, silver-white hair, eyes as blue as the deepest ocean, soft lips, and round cheeks, she was a sight to behold.She didn't care what she looked like.Appearances didn't mean much to her.Grabbing a clip in the shape of an onyx skull and crossbones and putting it on her hair, she opened the window close to the bed and started climbing down.She carefully made her way down, and once she was on the ground, she ran off into the woods.
"Rixa, let me in, please!I want to know what's been bothering you so much these days.", Riku exclaimed, trying one last time, "I just don't like seeing you feel this way and I want to cheer you up."
He didn't hear a response, so he opened the door.He noticed her coat and boots on the floor, the closet doors creaking, and the window letting in the breeze.Rixa was nowhere to be seen.He walked to the bed and looked out the window, seeing that it was going to start raining soon.
"Rixa, where are you going?"
On her way to the Clock Tower, Rixa saw Pence, Hayner and Olette standing by a store.They were discussing something involving a fight with Seifer and his gang.Remembering the encounter she had with Seifer's gang, she flinched and continued on her way.She heard a small crackle and it started to pour.She ran and tried to find shleter from the rain, but there was none to be found.Deciding that it wasn't worth waiting for it to stop, she resignated herself to reach the Clock Tower and staying as dry as possible.She skipped and hopped up the hill as the rain poured harder and harder, drenching her clothes.Axel popped up in her head, and she could see him laughing while running through the rain with Roxas and Xion.She extended her hand to them as she started chasing them, but she couldn't reach them.
"Wait, please don't go!Don't leave...me here alone...I don't wanna be alone."
She dropped to her knees and started to cry, having arrived to the train station.She hated herself for being so weak and not letting the past go.Xion was gone, Roxas had dissappeared and Axel was traitor.What could be said about her, besides that she left the Organization after discovering what she truly was?She was a traitor too, in her own way.It seemed that people around would end up hurt because of her.
"It's my fault.By being darkness, bad things happen to the people I care about..."
Picking herself up, she walked to the station doors and leaned against a wall, sliding down until she was on the floor.Taking out her headphones, she shook them to get them somewhat dry and put them on.Try as she might, the music wouldn't play.She took them off and threw them out on the pavement, not breaking from the force.She focused on the memory that had come to her while being in the forest with Riku and tried to dig deeper into her mind.She wanted to know where she came from, who she had been, what her family looked like.She wanted to find herself.
"Past the rain, on my own,
looking for a place to call home.
Who am I, who will I be?
Past the skies and past the sea..."
"There you are."
Rixa looked up and saw Riku staring down at her, drenched from the rain.She turned away and covered her face.He sat down and put his arms around her shoulders, kissing her cheek.She felt his warmth and huddled close to him to share body heat.
"Don't cry.I don't want you to be sad, Rixa."
"Riku..."
She stared into his face, then looked out at the town.But it wasn't Twilight Town she was looking at, it was a view from what appeared to be a castle.The skies were a light blue with a few clouds rolling by and to her surprise, different colored dragons flew across the sky.They flew around in circles, playing with one another and growling at each other.One white dragon separated from the group and flew towards her.It landed gracefully in a garden in front of where she was and lied down, curling itself up.
"Apocalypse, my dragon..."
"Rixa, what are you doing?Look out!"
Riku grabbed her before she fell off the railing and pulled her away.She stared into his eyes, confused.He pulled her close to him and nudged her head as a show of how angry he was at her.She giggled at him and put both of her hands on his face, whispered something into his ear.
"Don't give me that.There wasn't a dragon there and do you even see a garden?", he groaned.
"I saw a garden and there were dragons flying across the sky.I remember...I had a white dragon named Apocalypse.He was my friend...Wha-what are you doing?", she squealed, struggling against Riku as he lifted her up.
"You're mine now and we're going back to the mansion.I'm wet and if I get sick, it's your...fault..."
"My...fault..."
They didn't move, staring at each other and feeling the warmth from their bodies.Rixa smiled at Riku and ran away from him.
"You're gonna get siiick, you're gonna get siiick, unless you hurry it uuuup!", she said in a sing song voice.
"I'll show you a dragon!You're about to see what happens when I get mad!"
They played with each other, skipping across the puddles of rain and getting even more wet.Riku was about to tackle Rixa, when they saw Naminé staring at them while holding an umbrella.
"DiZ...was wondering where you both went.I see that you two are busy, so I'll be leaving now.", she whispered, trying not to laugh, "You two are going to catch a cold if you keep this up."
"Then that would be Rixa's fault for sneaking away and making me go after her.", Riku said, grinning, "Time for the naughty girl's punishment!"
"No, you don't!"
Back at the train station, Axel walked out of a portal and saw Rixa's headphones on the ground.Picking them up, he studied them and didn't see any scratches on them.He put them somewhere inside his coat and sticked his hand out to feel the rain drops.
"Just another walk through the rain."
