Myst, a fourteen-year old with a cheerful attitude, was walking to her technology class hoping to learn something new. In class, she noticed what the technology teacher was saying.
"Now class, before I let you in on the little surprise I mentioned yesterday, let's go over the safety regulations pertaining to the combination of magic and technology. The first step is..."
Myst's smile vanished when she heard magic and looked out the window, remembering that magic was one of the two things that always brings her down, the other being humanities. She remembered the last time a student challenged her, and he was trying his best to reach the rank of high mage, the best student ranking for mages.
"Ha ha, time to finish this duel Myst!"
"Oh yeah Skree'var'ko," Myst said as she tried to cast a simple earth spell, but failed to do so.
"Is this what you meant to do," Skree'var'ko asked as he casted an advanced earth spell, knocking Myst out of the match.
Myst remembered, and she said to herself, "I don't know if it's my fault or not, humanities and magic are my weakest areas."
The teacher then raised her hopes when he said, "Students, you're assignment is to make a machine meant to defend against a magic attack from an opponent. It is recommended that you pair up with one student from the magic class, but extra credit would go to one who can succesfully do so without a mage's help."
Myst's hopes soared since she was determined to prove herself in this assignment, and so her journey began to make the device that would prove to everyone that she has a strength.
This is a role-play example that I made which is somewhat what I'm looking for with you guys. There is better and worse.

Xenovahk Neoblade was feeling quite eager with anticipation. He checked his inventory, which included a fusion katana, a laser pistol, a wrist com-link/GPS/scanner/supreme shield gauntlet, a particle beam rifle with regular and sniper functions, an energy efficient jetpack, the gauntlet that helped him unlock his plasma magic abilities, and his upgraded zetacron sentinel. His sentinel companion has an arsenal including a fusion rail cannon, 2 shoulder-mounted gattling guns, a variety of missles that can be targeted, a level 10 neokron shield (best shields for any sentinels in Kronodassia), and an anti-missle auto-defence system (AMADS for short). He thought to himself: "Ok then. I know i gave my zetacron sentinel with the best capacitator, stable reactor, and shields a sentinel could have, a combo kinetic-emp armor (to reduce kinetic dmg from bullets, rockets, and such as well as nullifing EMP effects, also known as electronetic armor), and even thruster stabilizers for improved thrust and continued flight after impact from anti-air strike and antigrav pods for improved jump power and reduced skidding. Did i forget anything else?"
He had been a bit lost in thought as he was journeying from his home in the high-tech continent of Kronodassia to his cousin's new magic academy.
He was soon certain that he got everything he needed when his sentinel, code-named ZR9, asked, "Do you think this is a good idea? Are you certain my presence won't make others at this location a bit uneasy?"
Xenovahk replied, "ZR9, i sometimes wonder how you kept your artificial intel even while sitting in that pile of old parts."
ZR9 simply added, "Oh. Well nevermind then. At least this is yet another chance to annoy your relative again. Only now it's on her turf."
Xenovahk just sighed as he and ZR9 continued onward.

In it's current state of technological advancement, it's close to the verge of developing space travel but apparently is waiting for until it can develop the more advanced concepts of space travel. The most common type of magic use involves boosting combat drone capabilities like shields, weapons, etc., etc. Of course, the enhancements would last for various periods of time during battle, but since Kronodassia has been mostly unknown as far as existence is concerned, the use of magic itself was pretty much used in simulation battles.

Limits: sometimes accidently blowing herself in the direction her magic is going
Bio: Having decided to help others learn, Annali Elementra chose to form the magic academy to help teach magic to all. She had been thrusted the role of headmaster, so she appointed Renamore Enderlin and Xenovahk Neoblade as co-headmasters in case she couldn't come for some reason. She's also waiting to see if a possible staff member would have what it takes to be the third co-headmaster... Annali had often traveled to learn, yet isn't an explorer and still regretted the incident. She remembered having seen a fire burned down a village where mages were that sorrowed her. Since she was there, even though she still doesn't know fire magic, she kept blaming herself for it, which partially explains why she made the magic academy. She also remembered losing lots of friendly magic matches to her cousin when she was young, while she wasn't as experienced as she was. Also, her skills in air magic were rumored to be among the best, but she never brags about it and doesn't think she's the best at it, since she sometimes blows herself away.
