Thoughts and Ramblings of a Kaibalizard
A journal about what's on my mind and possibly steaming my broccoli.
Don't be ungrateful
Awhile back I was on another website (Lurapets if you're curious) and I was feeling generous. I came across someone that had a huge wishlist, and I thought I would do them a favor by giving them a few items they had on there. The response I received was disheartening, to say the least: "My wish list is off-limits!"

I was absolutely appalled. When I questioned him on this, he said he uses his wish list as a shopping list. Usually if someone gives you something you want (because it's supposed to be a wish list and not a shopping list), it's not a good idea to scold him/her for it. It's like if I was your friend and heard you say, "You know, I've decided that I really want a Wii." but when I give it to you, you say, "Why did you get me this? That was something I wanted to buy myself!"

For god's sake if you're using a wish list as your shopping list and don't want anyone to buy you stuff from it, here's a good tip:

Save me (and others) the grief and put your list on a personal site like Tripod. If that's too much trouble for you, then at least be a decent human being and don't complain when somebody gives you an item you obviously wanted.

tl;dr If you're going to complain about getting an item you asked for, then you must not have wanted that item so much. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, especially when it's exactly what you asked for.
