Invert City Stories 1
Okay, this is a little thing I'm doing for the hell of it. The short story's are about people living their lives in a psychopathic city. Basically, it's random.

Invert City, a place where just about anything, and every thing happens. Insane scientist, super villains bombing trash cans, gigantic robots tearing up the streets, and this is only in the morning! But in the middle of all this chaos there are people who try to live their daily lives the best they can, some don't even know the pure insanity that is their lives.

Invert City Stories: Shock Rock Beat

Rock sat in the back of the empty subway car as he listened to his CD player, and watched the scenery shoot past the window. His aquatic green eyes showed signs of pure boredom. Rock yawned as he pulled himself away from the window and stretched out, yawning. His silent boredom suddenly came to a halt as the train stopped at another station. Rock didn't bother to look to see if anybody was coming in or not, it really didn't matter to him, he just rode the sub to pass time. But as the train started to move, Rock suddenly felt eyes staring at him. Rock let a quiet sigh as he shifted his eyes to wards the feeling.

Five teens, probably two or three years older than Rock, entered the car. The five looked like the average school gang punks from the East Inverse High school (their open button up uniforms shirts and shoes were dead give aways.) The oldest of the the five (most likely the leader) gave the annoyed Rock a dirty look before smiling. Rock simply replied with a smile of his own.

The leader took a few steps closer to wards Rock and held out his hand saying something as he did so. Rock knew that leader was demanding money, he didn't need to turn off his CD Player to realize that. He just played oblivious and widened his smile.

The five now had a confused look on their faces as they glared at the seemingly oblivious Rock. The leader suddenly grabbed the collar of Rock's shirt and yanked him closer, and yelled at him. But Rock kept his cheerful smile.

Then the smile changed to a dark grin.

Rock suddenly reared his head back and swung forward, slamming his head into the lead thug. And before the others could recover from the shock, Rock shot forward and kneed one thug in the face before twisting and slamming the back of his fist into the jaw of another. The leader and the lackey closest to him again attacked Rock, but Rock lifted himself up by the rails and kicked the two in the jaws, before landing. One thug grabbed Rock into a full nelson, while another tried to punch him. Rock slipped from the one thug's hold, letting the oncoming fist hit him instead of Rock. The blond haired fighter lifted his foot and spun around, kicking all of the thugs back. He suddenly stopped spinning, the constant twirling made him so dizzy he didn't see the leader running for him, nor did he see that the leader was pushing him back at a fast rate, or that the the force and his body was enough to break one of the car's window, sending him flying out of the car.

The leader looked outside the broken window, slightly shocked, but then smiled. He looked at the rest of his gang and smirked. all congratulated him, except for one, who looked scared pale. The leader looked at the window the frightened thug was pointing at, and saw the head of Rock, who was grinning. Rock the disappeared from the window for a few seconds before swinging in feet first. As he smashed through the window, his fight collided with the thug leader's jaw. The leader stumbled back and landing in the arms of his lackeys, who dragged him back to the end of the car in fear. Rock grinned, electric spark making his hands glow. He knelt down, looking at the thugs dead in the eye, before slamming his fist into the floor of the car.

As the train entered a tunnel, a loud explosion could be heard. And before the train shot out of the tunnel as if nothing happened, smoke bellowed out of the tunnel.

Akira impatiently waited in his chair as he read his book. His brother missed his curfew by an hour. Akira knew he was probably goofing off in some subway train somewhere, but he usually wasn't late.

Akira suddenly heard the front door open and shut. He slowly turned his head to the hallway entrance and looked at his brother dead in the eye, his eyes asking "where the hell have you been". Rock stood there for a moment, before grinning ear to ear, and running upstairs. Akira went back to his book, shaking his head. He had a sinking feeling he was going to get another "pay for repairs" phone call by the local subway company.

(If any of you are worried that I'm stopping War Against the n00bs [though I doubt anybody is even reading them] don't worry. Just consider the Inver City Stories Intermissons.)
