As she sat there staring at the long distance infront of her, she wondered if she would ever make it out before sundown. The big columns of hedges didn't help the matter of not knowing where to go, neither did Miles' words, "make it out before sundown and live forever. If not...die in the maze with everyone else." Besides, who was he to tell her to drop dead if she didn't make it. But she kept walking. It was nearly 6:00 and the sun was just barely beginning to set. She looked up at the sky to see how far the sun had fallen, when suddenly, out of the blue, a giant black crow comes diving out of the sky and towards her face. Lucy thrust her arms over her face for protection, and then...she woke up.
It was sunday. The worst days of the year. It ment she had to go to school tomorrow and get all homework done today. She couldn't stop the groan from coming out of her throat. It was a habit she's been trying to get out of since the age of 10. Her mother hates the sound of a groan and it must have rubbed off on Lucy too because now she doesn't even like the sound of her own. Without having to think about it, she shoved her covers down to her toes and began to get dressed for breakfast, and later, church.
Lucy dreaded church but needed to go anyway. Her family was never religeous until Lucy's mother married Tom. He was religeous from head to toe. They had three weddings. One Jewish, One catholic, and one Islamic. Tom is nice and all but once and a while, he isnt what he appears to be.
