Death Note =/= Code Geass
Marcus2536
Think about it
-Both of them stars boy's who plan on fixing the world.
-There is a girl that finds out about the power or ability.
-Many people die.

Conspiracy? I think so.

And no I am not saying they are EXACTLY alike I'm just saying there similar.

Okay, I may be redundant here because I haven't riffed on you like the others have, but I'm gonna give you a big essay on why Code Geass is NOT like Death Note.

First off: Many people die in SHITLOADS OF OTHER SERIES, so that's out.
Second: I've seen a bunch of girls that find out about the main character's ability from other series, like Kotori from X/1999 and Orihime from Bleach. That's out too.

Now for the main topic. BE WARNED THERE ARE ******** SPOILERS IN THIS POST.

Both series:
- Death Note and Code Geass are two different stories with different views. Death Note is about how easily the human will is corrupted and how easy and how hard it is to deceive someone. It's main themes are corruption, deception, and egoism. Code Geass is about how morality is really blurred in times of war and how both sides fighting against each other have sympathetic causes. It's main themes are rebellion and reconstruction. Both stories only share the fact that one man could change the world and how you would do anything to make the world a better place... but that's also dome by Naruto as well.

- Both series also have different tones. Death Note shows a dark and gray world, while Code Geass shows both a bright and cheery world and the darks and grays of war and show. The characters of Death Note and Code Geass are all interesting characters, but Code Geass shows a more colorful cast than Death Note does.

- The settings both vary as well. Death Note takes place in the present day, while Code Geass takes place in an alternate history. Code Geass has a war going on before the story takes off, while Death Note had nothing - not even an increase in criminals.

Light and Lelouch
- Let's start with their similarities. Both have slightly similar appearances, both are the protagonists, both have a supernatural companion that grants them their trademark power, both of them have high IQs, both of them go crazy at some points, and that's it. That's just for their basic character. As the plot unfolds, the two of them diverge into different paths.

- Light becomes corrupted by his dream to become God of the New World and falls into the Villain Protagonist territory. He is only focused on doing that for his own selfish reasons. He doesn't stick to his plan of killing criminals to make the world a better place. He abandons that plan and makes his new plan to become a God. He never regrets who he has killed as long as they get in his way. He also stays evil throughout the story. He dies hanging on to his pride, saying that he doesn't want to die.

- Lelouch, on the other hand, always keeps his goal in mind throughout the series and falls into the Byronic Protagonist. He wants to make the world a better place for Nunally, and he does it in any way possible with his Geass, At certain points in the story, he looks back at the bad deeds he has done. He may commit evil acts, but he does it because he has to. He dies knowing that he can't live with all the guilt he carries.

You can say that both Light and Lelouch are the opposite roads of the path that is laid out when you are given the power to change the world. Light abused his power for his own selfish reasons while Lelouch used it to get closer to making the world better.

GOOD NIGHT, OP. I delayed my sleep because of you.
