Aya-Death Angel
Mostly poetry, no real deep thought. Just a place for momentary bursts of creativity.
Day II:
It has been two bells since the midnight watch took the walls, so dawn is only about four bells away. I know I should rest, but I can't. Today, or rather yesterday, since it is now the third day, was an absolute mess. The knight assigned to our training was having a practice joust and fell from his horse, breaking his back. The Queen stabbed herself with a sewing needle. While that's not odd in itself, the fact that it wouldn't stop bleeding is. Her new white wedding gown for one of her Court Ladies is ruined, of course, and the girl's wedding only a week away. The Queen had been working on that dress for MONTHS. Added to that, a strange storm blew in from the north, sleet and rain pounding away at the walls for nigh on three hours straight. The horses in the far south pasture were all found dead, bodies rigid and stiff, eyes wide in terror. But there wasn't a mark on their bodies!! I don't know what to make of it. The entire capital is leery of it. Spring is approaching, and to have a storm like that...unheard of.

Belle, Danny, Cherry and me I are now without a tutor in the art of combat. I heard the Sergeant of the Guard talking to a few of the Generals, and they talk of splitting us up! As much as I dislike Danny, Belle and Cherry and I me I have always been together. The only reason I haven't jipped a bag of bread and a jug of wine and split is because of them. I don't want to be a Druid! I have never done anythign anything to help the Earth, and I never left out offerings for Mother Nature on feast days. I canna can't understand why I was chosen. What does a lonely orphen orphon orphan have to offer this great Realm? I don't know.

The third bell has rung since I have begun writing the adventures mishaps of yesterday down. Tomorrow, or rather, today, is the first day of Spring, the season when Mother Nature sheds her ratty Winter robes and dawns the bright new mantle of Spring, or so the stories go. But for the first day of Spring, it's bitterly cold. As I look up at the window, I see a thick layer of frost coating the murky glass. My thin blanket is barely enough to keep the shivers at bay as I huddle over my candle. I dread the thought of placing my bare feet of the frigid stone to walk back to my bed, but I know I gotta get some rest, or I'll never make it in the morning. Today I am supposed to help the Druid with the King's Own's broodmare's births. They will be the foundation for Danny's Calvary division, and the best of the stallions will be chosen to be given as gifts at the tournament at Harvesttime. But I hear footsteps, and my candle is about to burn out. I shall continue this entry as Day III when today is done.
