Samantha Chapman and the Dawn of the Black rose: Chapter 5
Samantha opened her blood-coated eyes slowly. Caleb's arms were draped over her chest in a tight, protective, loving hold ans she was afraid to leave the safeness he constantly gave her. She gave a small sigh on Caleb's chest and his eyes flickered open. They looked at each other and smiled.

"Good morning my angel." Samantha whispered softly
"Good morning my vampire." Caleb whispered back

Samantha sighed and wove her fingers with Caleb's. He looked at her and gave her multipule butterfly kisses on her neck. Samantha smiled and kissed the top of Caleb's head.

"you know, I'd love to stay here and just forget about the world... but, if I'm late again and if I give my normal excuses, I shall be frowned apon." Samantha sighed sadly
Caleb nodded in understand meant. "No, we don't want that happening..." Caleb mumbled.

He let her go, but he had to fight wrapping his arms back around her. Samantha smiled child-like and Caleb a kiss on his neck. Caleb smiled and watched as Samantha got dressed again. They kissed each others noses and Samantha's eyes were icy blue as Caleb grabbed her hand and escorted her down the stairs to the common room.

Austin and Ryan were sitting across from each other on two of the leather black couches when Samantha walked in.

"Can you be a good girl and handle this on your own, Sammy? Caleb asked
Samantha nodded softly. "Yeah." Caleb kissed her hair and dissolved.

Ryan and Austin looked up at Samantha and smiled happily. Samantha looked down at the floor and sighed. She couldn't bare look at them, especially Austin. Austin got up and wrapped his arms around her. Samantha looked at him and their eyes turned to gold instantly, she didn't see one trace of Caleb in him and her eyes shuddered to a private gray. Austin lifted her from the floor, carrying Samantha in his arms, he brought her to the couch and placed her down softly. Samantha looked at him and this time, she saw Caleb's reflection in Austin's golden eyes. Seconds later, he was acting as Austin.

"I'm sorry- Samantha began but Austin put two fingers over her lips, cutting her off.
"Don't be," he whispered softly

Samantha's eyes flickered over to Ryan. She knew instead of seeing Caleb, like she did, he saw Austin.

"Why?" she asked, looking back at Austin.
"I overreacted. I promise, it'll never happen again. If anyone's sorry, it's me."
Samantha sighed softly. "It's not your fault. You know it's not. You have every right to react the way you did. You just want to love me and keep me safe... If anything like that happens again, can you promise me something?"
"What's that?" Austin and Ryan asked her at the same time.
"Sterling, he might hurt you to get to me. Just be careful on how you react please, you too, Ryan. Thank you for what both of you did yesterday."
"We'll do what's best for you, because we love you." Ryan said for both him and Austin as their eyes turned white and protective.
"You mean that?" Samantha asked

They smiled and nodded.

"Are we just gonna forget that ever happened?"
Only if you want us to, Sam." Ryan answered
"I'll make them forget, mi princessa." Caleb whispered, now sitting next to Samantha on the floor and resting his head on her knees.
"Sounds good." Samantha whispered back

Caleb tilted his head so he looked up at her upside down. They smiled at each other and Samantha gave an unwanted giggle. She looked up at Austin and Ryan with light brown eyes of embarrassment.

"Caleb here?" Ryan asked
"Yeah," Samantha smiled and quickly changed the subject. "You stayed down here all night then?"

Ryan and Austin nodded. Austin grabbed hold of one of Samantha's hands and she stiffiled a sigh.

"What?" Austin asked softly
"The warm flow," she muttered.
"Huh?" Austin replied confused.
Samantha straightened up and smiled at Caleb's face.

"When mine and Ryan's skin touches, it feel electrical. When we touch, it's warm. When Sterling and I touched, it was cold. I'm sure it-

Caleb put his finger tips over her mouth and cut her off. There was a shadow coming down from the boys' dormitory. Seconds later, Sterling was at their sides. He nodded curtly at Austin and smirked at Ryan. They both scoffed at him and rolled their emerald eyes. Sterling turned to Samantha and he streached out a finger and motioned for her to come with him.

Samantha turned and looked and looked at Austin (Caleb) and Ryan. Austin nodded and grabbed her wrist.

"Leave your body guard, Thompson too." Sterling uttered plainly
"No!" Samantha snapped
"Fine..."

Sterling turned on his heels and Caleb gave Samantha's wrist a lite squeeze as they stood up and followed. Samantha looked at Ryan and he just blinked.

"Five minuets," Austin whispered and Ryan nodded softly

Sterling led Samantha and Austin out of the common room and out into the hallway. They walked for a bit, then Sterling stopped suddenly and turned to them. His eyes focused evilly on his sister.

he smiled, sinister-like. "Don't pretend you didn't like it." he whispered softly "You were kissing me back you know."

Sterling moved one of his hands up to touch her cheek. Samantha looked at Austin, all she saw was Caleb. In her eyes, Caleb swatted Sterling's hand away instead of Austin.

"Shut up," he growled, looked at Sterling darkly.

Sterling ignored his words and continued to stare dreamily at his sister. Samantha's eyes slowly turned to a cloudy white as she sneered at her brother.

"You sneer like Taylor." Sterling remarked, smiling.
"Don't flatter me..." Samantha mumbled

The two of them stared at each other with deep contempt. After a few seconds, Caleb gave Samantha's hand a squeeze.

"Can we go now?" Samantha asked
"Sure, go right ahead." Sterling answered

With Caleb at her side, Samantha turned on her heels and they began to walk away. Sterling followed quickly and silently behind them. He grabbed on to Samantha's shoulders, making her and Austin stop abruptly. Sterling spun her around, ripping her hand from his.

"What?" she exclaimed scared

Sterling pulled his sister close. He wrapped his arms around her and gripped her shoulder. He sighed on her neck, making her shiver and her eyes turned to a misty purple.

"Don't pretend..." Sterling whispered seductivly in her ear.

Samantha sighed and gave a soft growl.

"********..." she whispered harshly

Sterling's nostrils flared and his eyes fluttered to a dark green. He got a better hold on her and pressed his cold lips to her neck. Samantha growled and poked her elongated fangs into Sterling's shoulder. Sterling screamed and let her fall to the floor as he examined the bite mark. He looked at her with a glare. Samantha looked at him with a looked of nervousness and pride. Sterling elongated his fangs threatningly.

"Don't you dare do that again you little b***h," he seethed and Samantha nodded.

Samantha looked over at Austin ans she saw only Caleb. He walked over to her and picked her up off the floor. They looked at each other and Caleb gently kissed her forehead.

"Are you okay, Sammy?" he asked softly and Samantha nodded and gripped his shirt.
"Just run..." she whispered

Austin gripped her hand softly and they ran down the hallway back to the Full-Fledged common room.

Samantha slowed her pace and let go of Austin's hand as the tow of the walked into the room. They sat down one of the couches in from of Ryan and when they looked at each other, all three were icy blue eyed. Samantha could feel Caleb's lips tickling her neck where Sterling kissed her and his fingers gently pulled through her hair. She looked at him and smiled.

"There," he sighed happily. "you are no longer contaminated.
"Thank you," Samantha whispered. "I'll pay you later."
"Tonight?" his eyes lite up
"If I think you deserve it." Samantha teased

Caleb snickered softly and kissed Samantha's nose and neck.

"Want me to wait up for you?" Caleb asked
"You're going to no matter what I say anyway... Our world, 'kay?"
"Of course." Caleb smiled, kissed her eyes, and dissolved away.
"So, what happened, with Sterling?" Ryan asked suddenly

Samantha shrugged and her eyes turned hazel.

"Nothing bad... He just grabbed my shoulders."
"Sure didn't seem like it when you two walked in here..." Ryan began, "I saw the shock in your eyes and the anger in Austin's."
"It was nothing, Ryan!" Samantha snapped
"Alright," he said calmly, shrugging. "If you say so."

Samantha sighed softly. Austin placed a hand softly on her shoulder and they looked at each other. After a few seconds, Austin got up and glided over to one of the open windows. He sat on the ledge and let his feet dangle out in the cold air. He didn't shiver in the slightest as Fireflies began to dance around him and kiss his skin. Samantha and Ryan looked at each other with nervous red eyes.

"Austin, are you okay?" Samantha asked softly

Austin turned and looked at just her. His eyes were glistening, crystal, with tears. Actual human tears.

"Do I look okay?" he whispered angrily so he didn't scream.

Samantha gave a small jump and looked at him with icy blue eyes.

"I-I'm sorry. It's just-
"I know..." Austin seethed through his fangs, clearly getting irritated.
"Aus-
"Sammy..." Austin growled threatningly
"Tell me," she whispered sweetly, gliding over to him.
"It's just..." Austin sighed softly and got up from the ledge.

He grabbed her wrist and gently towed her back to the couch. They sat down, across from Ryan. Austin sighed and cleared his throat.

"This is what happened..." Austin looked up at the ceiling and seemed to go blank. "I was six when my father died, it devistated me and my mother... mostly her but you get my point. When I brought him up, wanting to talk about him, wanting to talk about him, her eyes would just go silver and she'd run out of the room, leaving blood drops on the floor. She and my father were both full-fledged vampires, so their instincts would kick in all the time and they would fight... constantly. Not screaming and yelling fights either." he stopped.
"Keep going," Samantha begged and Austin nodded.
"The room was brightly lit, but still very dark as my father sighed and made the t.v. go black. He turned to my mother, and she looked back at him. His eyes turned black, and her's turned as well, just as quickly. They stood up and began to stride around the room, like two wolves, waiting for the other to make their move."

Austin shuddered softly and Samantha grabbed his hand. He smiled at her and stroked her hand with his thumb.

"It was like a death metal rock them was playing in their heads. Their fangs elongated like they were following guitar strums and their steps like drums. Their steps quickened with the drums and they jumped at each other in the same second as when the lead singer starts to scream. I shreicked silently and his behind the wall, too scared to watch, but I listened. Snarling, shreicks and moans of pain, screams of agony, groans of terror, the splatter of stray crimson that found its way to me, howls of angst, and sighs of a painful, mournful, antagonising, beautiful lust. After about two hours, it was over, and there was silence, except for my mother's regretful sobs. I looked over and she was crying over the corpse of my father as he lay in a pool of his own blood." Austin shook violently and bloody tears started to fall. "So, then a month or so later, she started doing drugs. She's in critical condition and the doctors won't let me and Evan's go see her in that kind of condition. They say we're too young, but, Evan's is fifteen... Now, Sterling's hurting Sam... Honestly, I'm scared."

Austins' eyes drifted from the ceiling to Ryan, then to Samantha. They both had looks of sadness and deep gray eyes. Samantha wrapped her around Austin and let him cry on her shoulder. Ryan watched sadly, at least, that's what it looked like on the outside. On the inside, all there was was jealousy. After a few minuets, Austin calmed down but his legs were wrapped tightly to his chest as he shivered violently. Samantha's touch couldn't warm him. Ryan wrapped him in a blanket and they sat together on the opposite couch from Samantha. Austin's head rested on Ryan's shoulder, out for the night.

"When're you gonna tell them about Sterling?" Ryan whispered
"Next time I talk to them, but I have a feeling Taylor already knows." Samantha whispered back
"How?" Ryan whispered
"Taylor can read my mind. I can never keep anything from him." Samantha answered

Ryan nodded and gave a small yawn.

"Bed time?" Samantha giggled
"Yeah," Ryan laughed under his breath

Samantha got up, kissed Ryan on the cheek, and softly kissed Austin's nose. She smiled at Ryan and he smiled back and Samantha glided up the stairs to her room. Once she was out of sight, Ryan looked down at Austin's sleeping face. He brushed Austin's hair off his face and kissed his forehead.

"I love you and I wish you'd pick me over her." Ryan whispered so soft he barely heard it himself.

Ryan burried his nose in Austin's light brown hair and took his scent, honey and vanilla. He smiled cutely and just as he pulled away, Austin jumped awake.

"Sam go to bed?" he asked, rubbing his tired gray eyes.
"Yeah, a couple minuets ago," he answered. "You okay?"
"Yep," Austin answered, standing up. "See you tommarrow?"
"Of course," Ryan sighed and watched Austin leave.

"Ready, mi corazon?" Caleb asked as Samantha slipped under the sheets of her bed and in place next to him.
"Always am," she teased, grabbing hold of one of his hands.

Caleb took his middle and index fingers and touched her forehead. Seconds later, Caleb and Samantha were in Samantha's perfect world, her heaven. A weeping willow forest, soft emerald grass, deep red roses everywhere, snowy owls flying overhead, a bright beautiful silver moon, golden fireflies everywhere that gently kissed the petals of every rose, a black sky that was a bright as day, Caleb always made invisible violins and pianos play off in the distance, and snow always fell. Not in large amounts, just enough to stick to the blades of grass and make it like specks of sugar or dew drops.

Caleb wrapped his arms around Samantha, making her jump, and they both fell to the cold, damp grass. They both laughed and began to roll around and wrestle. The fun stopped about ten minuets later and they sat snuggled together within the branches of a weeping willow.

"Eventful day, Sammy?" Caleb teased, look at Samantha and holding her securly in his arms.
"Don't start please." Samantha begged, looking back at him.

Caleb nodded in understand meant and lifted her into his lap. She looked at him upside down and he kissed her forehead.

"Caleb?" Samantha asked softly as violins began to play
"Hm?" was his reply as he his lips were too preoccupied with placing sugar kisses on her shoulders and the back of her neck.
"Do the gods see anything bad happening?" Samantha asked in a sweet whisper

Caleb stopped kissing her and slowly closed his eyes. He bowed his head and rested it on the top of hers.

"Yes," he whispered softly into her hair, "but nothing we should be worried about right now."

Samantha nodded softly and Caleb tiled her chin up. Samantha looked at him upside down and smiled as Caleb kissed her eye lashes.

"Do you understand why I can't tell you?" Caleb asked slowly
"Sorta..." she admitted. "but yes, I do."
"That's my girl..." Caleb kissed Samantha's cheek and shifted her in his lap. "You know I love you, don't you sis?"
"Of course." she answered "Do you know I love you too bro?"
"Of course," he replied "How much?"
Samantha looked at him and smiled. "My love cannot be measured by the human body, mind, or spirit. It's impossible to measure because I love you more than the world can hold. I love you with every fiber of my being. You are mi vida... my life."

Caleb smiled down at her sweetly and kissed her nose and both her cheeks.

"Okay, why can't you tell me?" Samantha asked, trying to be serious.
"I can't tell you because you have to fine out for yourself." Caleb answered
Samantha sighed. "What's the point of having an angel if he can't tell you anything?" she asked herself
"Hey, that's not all I'm good for you silly little vampire." Caleb smiled "I've had my moments.
"Like when?" Samantha teased
"When I first came to you, the second you were born. I was the only one you would look at and and smile at."
Samantha smiled. "What about the other twelve years of my life?"
"When you and I both told each other we love each other, when we spent our first night together, when I comforted you when you had a nightmare, ho I gave you roses and the only reason I gave you was that I love you, and when we played in the snow when we were ten and Taylor made you his special hot chocolate and I made you laugh so hard it shot out your nose."

Caleb and Samantha burst out laughing. They were laughing so hard that Caleb accidentaly let her go and they fell out of the tree. Caleb quickly wrapped his arms around Samantha just as they landed and began to roll down a hill. Both were laughing so hard that they didn't even notice they were rolling intoa small rose patch. The two finally stopped rolling and Caleb laid on top of Samantha. He took two fingers and pressed them to her lips, making her stop laughing. Fireflies began to dance around them and Caleb brushed Samantha's hair away from her eyes. The wind blwe softly and tickled Samantha's cheeks as she smiled her true smile up at him and her eyes burned gold.

"You and I both know, that if something bad's gonna happen, I'll-
"Be waiting to wrap me in your arms, let me cry on your shoulder, and say 'I told you, Sammy'. Right?"

Caleb smiled down at her and began to fake cry.

"You know me so well," he teased
"I should by now, love." Samantha laughed, as she kissed Caleb's nose.

Caleb smiled down at her sweetly. He plucked a rose that was by the top of her head and began to pull petals from stem. He did the same thing with three more roses and got off of Samantha. She was about to follow, but Caleb gently pushed her back down.

"What're y-

Caleb pressed two fingers to her lips and Samantha nodded softly. He whistled and dozens apon millions of fireflies flew over to them. Caleb began whispering to one of the fireflies and is seemed to nod, along with the others. He held out his hands, which held out the sepperate rose petals, to the fireflies. They all took 'handfulls' and once Caleb's hands were empty, he laid back down nnext to Samantha.

They looked at each other and Caleb smiled brightly. He made more invisible violins play and more snow fall around them. Caleb wrapped his arms around her and they snuggled close. Caleb glanced up at the fireflies and winked. Seconds later, the fireflies began to dance with the strings and started to drop the rose petals around them. Samantha gasped happily and her eyes sparkled with Caleb's silver light.

"My sweet prince." She whispered softly, close to tears, which fell instantly.

Caleb smiled and dried her tears with his thumbs. Her eyes oozed gold as she looked at Caleb and smiled. Stars began to shoot across the sky and the snow lessened and turned to rain.

"Are you doing this?" Samantha asked as she felt the rain fall onto her skin.
"Maybe." Caleb teased, trying to shake the water from his hair.
Samantha smiled happily. "My sweet prince." she repeated.

Caleb gave a small giggle and collected Samantha into his lap.

"My adorable, beautiful princessa." Caleb whispered onto her neck as he kissed it and licked the rain water from it.

Samantha giggled and tilted Caleb's chin down so they looked each other in the eyes. Caleb's mouth hung open in a small expectance. Samantha nodded and smiled as Caleb's eyes lit up. Samantha snuggled deeper into Caleb's lap and restred her forearms on his shoulders. Caleb rested his hands on Samantha's hips and bowed their foreheads together. Samantha puckered her lips and leaned in at the same second as Caleb. Just as their lips were to touch, a golden light flashed and Samantha was back to reality.

XXXXXXXXXX

When Samantha opened her eyes, she jumped. When she opened her eyes, Ryan was standing at her bedside. He had the saddest look on his face that would probably make even Sterling cry. She sat up.

"Ryan," she began nervously. "What's wrong?"
"Austin..." he began trailing off.
"Ryan?" Samantha begged, close to tears.
"Austin bit his wrist."

Samantha let her silent tears fall.
