Out on the front porch, smoking a cigarette and I turn to my dog,

'man I miss my life' I say, 'I feel like a log'.

Sitting in this place all day, popping my pill to take the pain away. The night she calls me out to play and yet here I sit because my body is broken down today.

My friends still out playing as I used to do, being so different from you, and you, yet here I still sit day after day...will I ever be able to go out and play?

What is today? I ask, Monday? No you reply it is Thursday you have slept it all away.

I check my phone no messages still, oh god here comes the pain better take my pill.

Down I go for another six hours man these pills drain me of every kind of power, I wake again ' so it is friday today?' 'no it is saturday' you say, ' you should probably shower'

To the shower i go till the water turns cold, here comes the pain again...man this is getting old...
