Monsters
Even though the miasma (that once quenched the air of a diseasing aroma.) is gone, monsters still roam the lands. Not many people seem to care though, since most monsters stay within range of the nearest dungeon. Many say that monsters are just amusement for trained soldiers. "Monsters have been around since the beginning of time." is what some people would say, or "Monsters originate from an unknown evil." scholars mostly suggested. Monsters seemed to be the most income for free-lancers who roam from cities, towns, villages, and kingdoms. Monsters in this world seem to serve a purpose, it's weird because monsters cause harm to us. One has said, "To obtain true happiness, one must work for it." So in this world, the work must be the monsters themselves, since after slaying one you are rewarded regardless in one or many ways.
