Ancient legend tells of the balance of the world being split into different realities, each reality containing a completely new world entirely. A order of human mages called “Benders” watched over the different worlds, maintaining perfect order amongst the many realities. But as time dragged on the secret order began to be blamed for many of the worlds disasters, and like the witches in Salem they too burned at the stake. Upon the deaths of the mages the world became plagued with murderers, violence, disaster, and plague. Without the Benders to protect them, the paradise they had once lived in became a world of fear and horror. People gradually became used to the awful things that had been occurring, and it wasn't until five hundred years later that the last Bender text would be found. The details of the text had shown that not all of the benders were burned when the time came, and a single archaeologist found himself becoming obsessed with finding the resting place of the final Bender. But what had not been included in the text, was that the final Bender would remain to cap off the realities to the best of his abilities. And when his resting place was disturbed the world seemed to shudder at his awakening.

It was then that the creatures once held back embedded themselves in the modern world possessing humans to make themselves known to a unwary populous. The world sank into havoc as the very things that once haunted peoples dreams now came to claim their bodies in the night. The burden of repairing the world was placed upon the shoulders of the one who had caused such chaos in the first place. But such power is tempting, and no one can say just what will happen to the planet......

Hyro rose up from his slumber finding that he had a splitting headache from the last night. He pushed himself up off the wall already prepared for yet another night of hunting the invaders of earth. A cool winter breeze brushed past him as he adjusted his weapons letting loose a faint sigh just as a womans voice was heard in the distance. “First fare of the night......” He mutters before springing into action to locate the woman. To the normal onlooker it appeared as though three shady men had cornered a woman in a park, but to Hyro these men appeared to be demons from the depths of Viviod. “Shame on you boys picking on a poor defenseless woman!” Hyro cooed flashing the demonic presences a wide groggy grin. “Heh, with ugly mugs like yours even I would shudder.......” Without much thought the demons rushed Hyro emitting coarse laughs as they closed in on him like prey. “You should have shut your mouth when you had the chance human!” One of them called before taking the chance to attack Hyro, he saw a single flash before being ejected from the humans body. Hyro only smiled as he spun his guns around letting out two more shots to purge the demons from their humans shells. “Ollie Ollie Oxen free boys!” Hyro called out with a smile, allowing the demons to rise up and give him a fair fight. “You little b*****d! How could you do such a thing without killing the human, and just how is it that you can see us!” Hyro only smiled before pulling his sword from the sheath and waving his finger back and fourth in a scolding motion. “Now I'm just not the type of guy to kiss and tell.” He announces happily as he springs forward jamming his blade into the chest of one of the demons. The creature let out a painful cry as its body was pulled back into its own dimension. Hyro turned to face the others, covered in the blood of their fallen comrade. “Next?” He asks in amusement, the two remaining demons turn to escape from him, only to find that they had been standing in voids the entire time. “Seeya boys, tell the missus I'm doing alright!” Hyro waved as the voids swallowed up the two demons cutting them to pieces with jagged shadow blades.

Hyro returned to the earthen reality to find that the three men had already fled for their lives. He plopped down on a bench in the park letting out a heavy sigh. “No matter what I'll always be behind, I'm pulling triple shifts just to clean up this city as is.” He rubbed his tired eyes before shaking his head slowly. “A man can't work like this.....” He muttered before slumping back on the bench to clear his head for the moment being. He let himself melt away from the place ending up in a back alley bar as he often did. The man behind the counter eyed him for a moment before setting a glass down in front of him. “Where have you been ya little punk a**?” Mouthed the man before adjusting his sunglasses with a smile. “Oh you know the usual......” Hyro replied before taking a long swig of the drink placed before him. The man quickly placed another drink down in front of him, already knowing just how fast he would finish them. “So whats the word?” Hyro asks setting down his second drink and letting out a faint sigh. “The humans here have been pretty freaked actually, they say that the crimes of the other beings are picking up. As for the rest of the company this place attracts, well they really don't seem to care about it much. But then again they don't really realize that I'm one of them thanks to your little trick.” The man smiles pushing down his glasses and winking before going to take care of a few other customers. Hyro sits back a moment letting his eyes scan the room to figure out just what he would be up against soon. He sighed contently waiting for the usual bar fight to break out, and it was only a matter of time until a dimensional being got too full of himself.
