devil hunter girl's journal
Well it will be full of random things. I will write about what I want to write about.
Chapter one
Territory
I stared at my cell phone as it bounced across the counter from the vibration it expelled. The number on the phone was one that I recognised by not one that I wanted to see at the moment. I could almost hear the lecture that I would get by the Pack Alpha about how privilaged I was to be under thier protection without any of the responsabilities. He always said that. Ever since that day....
Immediatly senes started flashing before my eyes, me in that dark, awefull cell, being injected with werewolf saliva, all the needles... I jumped and scooped up an armfull of books to put on the shelf. I arranged some of the newer books in the front of the store, to grab people's attention. New books always did. When I finished arranging the new arrivals I put three more boxes of books away. I gritted my teeth as my phone vibrated every five minutes to signal the Andrew was becoming quite cross with me. Then again that was nothing new. It had been that way for a while now. He was angry about something that I said to him about a month ago regarding my living arrangment's. I wanted to move farther away from the Pack.
I had known that Andrew wouldn't be happy about the suggestion but I had never anticipated how he would react. He had exploded! He yelled at me and hit me, several times. He said I was ungrateful for what the Pack had done for me and everything that he had helped me out with since they got me out of....that place. So I did what any other wolf would do when they were challenged by omeone of higher rank, tucked my tail between my legs and walked away. I would stay and I knew that I had to. At this point I had no choice. I had been collared by them. The entire Pack owned me, and I knew that they did. They knew that I knew as well, which didn't help the factor in the least.
Ever since the day I went and talked to Andrew it became clear that I would never become a Pack member, but they were also never going to let me go either. After all it wasn't everyday that you came across a telekinetic werewolf. As it went female werewolves werew rare enough, but ones with other abilities were like winning the lottery. They weren't going to let anyone else even get a chance to recruit me, especially other rogue wloves. So I was stuck, pulling against my chain and barking in protest till my master got tired of it and came out to beat me into submission.
They bell sounded in the front of my bookstore and I jumped, dropping my books on my foot. I let out a yelp and bent to pick up my books. Before I even got back to the front of my store I smelled them. The enforcers of the Pack. Lilian and Stephan, the twins. The hair on the back f my neck stood up, as it usually did when other werewolves were in my store. I had to surpress the urge to defend my territory and instead practiced looking surpried when I saw them. They were leaning against the counter looking around. Lillian scowled at the store, she never did like it, or me for that matter. To her I was another female in her territory of males. She didn't like that much.
"Hey I didn't know you guys were dropping in today, how are things?" I asked sounding sincere.
"You would know if you answered your cell." Stephan said in a monotone.
He always bugged me. He never did anything that would betray what he was thinking or anything of the sort. He always spoke in the same tone, he was just hard to read. His sister was completly opposite to him and was very peredictable. She was also a drama queen.
"Was that you guys who were calling? Sorry I was buisy putting books away I must missed it. Sorry." I apologised half-heartedly.
"Andrew called twenty-four times." Stephan replied cooly.
"You can tell us you just thought it was some calling for books." Lillian snapped.
I only shrugged, not commiting to anything. I heard Lillian growl and I had to keep myself from returning the favor. To challenge one of the Pack wolves woul be a sign of betrayal to them. As much as I hated to admit it, I needed their protection.
"Well since I missed the calls then could you guys tell me what's going on?" I inquired as I leaned back against a bookcase.
"Andrew want's you to meet him for lunch, the usual place. He wouldn't tell us why, so just be there." Stephan replied as he turned to leave the store. "Come one Lilly."
He left and Lilly walked up and stood in front of me, so close that I could smell what she had for breakfast this morning.
"Look you, I don't know whay Andrew wouldn't tell us, his most trusted Pack member's what he wans to discuss with you but I warn you now, if you endanger my chances of becoming the Alpha's mate, I will personally rip your throat out." She growled at me. "Got it?"
I could only glare at her as my hackles stood up. How could she even think that I wanted that?
"Good." She turned and left.
I couldn't stop the nagging feeling in my gut the rest of the day. When lunch time came around my stomach only churned at the thought of food.
