Chapter 1
Eva's day was going by horrible. In the village hidden in the sand, there was only one rival that was standing in her way of fulfilling her dream, Garra. She hated gaara but the only problem was that Gaara and her big sister Marie were going out. But now Garra and Eva had to put aside all of their differences to help save Marie's life. Here is how it happened.......
Marie and Eva were walking home from the ninja academy one afternoon. Eva was balling her eyes out because she had once again failed at getting her headband. "Oh Eva, don't feel bad. You'll get it next time if you actually try." Marie told her little sister, looking back at her because she was on her back. Back at their house, Eva plopped her self on the couch in front of the television and, of course, turned it on. Marie came in with a box of ice-cream that she had hidden in the freezer. Eva's face almost immediately lit up. They sat together and ate the ice-cream and watched television. That night, over dinner, they had a really interesting conversation. "Hey Marie?"Eva asked. Marie replied "Yeah my pretty little princess?" "Well, I've got two questions. 1:did you get your headband the first time around? 2:what were mom and dad like?" At the sound of mom and dad Marie dropped her chopsticks. "Um, well no I did not get my headband the first time around and mom and dad were like um, well, they were like, um, you know what? I'll just let you see the picture of them." Marie dug through her huge bag to find the picture."Aha! I found it! Here you go Eva." and Marie passed Eva the picture. As Eva looked at it she noticed that she had looked like her father but had her mother's eyes. She looked up at Marie and noticed that she had looked like her mom but had her father's eyes:the complete opposite of herself! She gave back the picture and then a masked girl broke into the house. "Give me the little one and this will all be done with soon enough." the girl said. Just then did Marie notice that she had an unconscious Gaara in her hands."Hey!You!Put my BF down! And one more thing, NO YOU CAN NOT HAVE EVA!!!!!" "Well then, I guess I'll have to get her the old-fashioned way." she said in a calmed voice. Then it hit Marie. "ALEX! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME? YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE MY FRIEND! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?"Marie yelled at the top of her lungs."It's lord Orochimaru's orders." Marie calmed down."Well, if you want Eva, you'll have to kill me first." Alex had a smirk on. "Fine."Alex said as 8 shuriken flew at Marie and hit her in the stomach and 1 in the throat. "MARIE!!!!" Eva screamed as she ran over to her sister, who was bleeding hysterically from her stomach. "H-Help I c-ca-can't b-bre-breath." Marie stammered. "I don't know how-" Eva started to say until sand protected them both. Then Gaara showed up behind the sand with them. Eva couldn't find any word except "thank you, Gaara." "Gaara that's no fair!"Alex screamed, then ran out the door. "Come on, we need to get her to the hospital."Gaara said. At the hospital, Lady Hokage(Tsunade)was there in a split second. After an hour or two, Lady Hokage came out of the room. She had a sad face on. Eva popped up and looked up at Lady Hokage and said, half sobbing,"Is Marie going to be ok?" Lady Hokage looked really sad now and began to cry."I'm so sorry. I did the best I could." Tears ran down everybody's face, especially Eva's and Garra's. 'Till about 5 in the morning, they all prayed for Marie, although they all, except Eva, knew that wasn't going to help her not be dead. Garra, Lady Hokage, and Eva stayed at the hospital that night. Then the funeral came. Eva had to attened. After that was over, the Kazekage and Lady Hokage had a talk. Garra said "Eva's going to live with me, Temari, and Kankuro?"
