The Daily Toils of a Homosexual Geek
Basically a synopsis of my thoughts, actions, and things that have happened to me during each day. I will make an effort to update, even the most boring days.
The Melancholy of Hakuro de Killer I
So anyway, I have found myself having a few problems at home. I woke up and was unusually warm. Due to being unable to leave my house because it wasn't a Friday when I usually need to leave or a Saturday when I usually catch a break to get to my local game shop to hang out, I was left alone in my room for most of the day. I played Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2009 for a little while and just talked with a few friends.

While I was settling down for lunch, I heard news about a new automobile being pumped out by GM that is said to get 230 miles to the gallon, which is quite groundbreaking for GM. In any case, I felt that this could revolutionize how much gasoline would normally be consumed by anyone. I wager that, in a few years, this revolutionary technology will become the standard. I have heard flaws with it, such as the fact that the electric motor can only keep the car running for approximately 40 miles, after which the backup gasoline engine would then start up.

Now other than when I would be traveling out-of-town for conventions or other important meetings, I don't see myself driving more than 40 miles in a week. At least, of course, by the time I am able to move out of my house and get a good enough job to be able to afford it.

Enough about this car because I tend to be geeking out about something that is outside of my field of geek expertise here. Anyway, my mother left to grab my younger brother from wherever he was (He's rather psychotic, just an FYI for later on in the story). So my mother leaves and before she does, she tells me that I should get the air conditioner installed into the window. Now here's the interesting bit.

I walked into the garage only to find that there were, in fact, two air conditioners. One of them I recognized as we had been using it for years. The other one I did not recognize, but it looked like it had been in quite a bit of disrepair itself. Now, I didn't realize it at the time, but I was overheating quite a bit. So I brought both air conditioners into the house and tried to contemplate where to put which air conditioner where.

After a while of being unable to figure it out due to the window where it had sat for years prior to this one had been blocked off with my mother's things, I gave her a call. Now remember, kids! Frustration and Overheating do not mix. Now I don't yell at people and I am proud at the fact that I don't normally do such. However, I was both frustrated and overheated, so I did yell over the phone.

My mother did get her feelings hurt and I was being stupid at the time of the phone call, though through the aggrivation, I did get some information that I needed. Using that information, I saw the window I was supposed to put the air conditioner into and, using the instructions I was given through the yelling, I took out the screen and put the air conditioner inside atop a pair of wooden planks.

I felt a little warm, so I grabbed a can of seltzer water from the fridge (my drink of choice) and gulped it down. Surprisingly, I felt it chill to my core. Feeling that sensation, I could tell for a fact that I was merely overheated. So I filled a pair of extra large Ziploc bags with a bunch of those freeze popsicles and sat on my chair, hugging the bags of popsicles into myself to cool myself down in an effort to calm myself down.

When my mother and younger brother came home, I took it upon myself to leave the room because, more often than not, the instant my younger brother comes home, there is going to be screaming going on followed by wall banging and something ending up breaking.

The thing that ended up breaking this time was two legs off of the kitchen table. Apparently, when one of the legs broke off of the kitchen table, my mother decided to just stick it back on and hoped that nobody had noticed. So then after taking some time in my room and talking with my friends some more, I was asked to come out and help...

...and what do I find going on in the kitchen in the intolerable heat that caused me to rage in the first place but a pot of boiling water that increased the temperature of my house by a good fifteen, twenty degrees. Now I was pissed, but this time, I was aware that it was just the heat and I controlled myself. I did what my mother asked me to do, however unreasonable it might have seemed at the time while she was yelling at me, obviously unaware that she, herself was overheated.

When I was done, I left back into my room once again, hoping not to be disturbed as I talk to friends.

Why does the internet have to be my only source of enjoyment and pleasure at this point in time? Why am I unable to leave my house every day and hang out with friends, go someplace fun, or even just find a job that I can do? Why do I have to live in this purgatory paradise ten miles away from town with no legitimate means to go anywhere or do anything?

I am grateful that I will be moving out soon. I am definitely counting the days until I can actually live out a normal life away from this deceptive serenity.
