Parents were killed as a child he grew up as the only Raiken member still alive in his village, Shinto was also raised to be the future head of the Mist's Raiken clan untill everyone in the Raiken clan was killed. Shinto also has a very rare sleeping disorder that makes him sleep for long periods of time meaning that when he wakes up his body is over-charged with electricty that short bursts appear around him. Shinto also has a split personallity named Zero Negato making him fly into a blind rage untill he runs out of chakra.
