Supercilious parents
I've been looking at many movies lately and one thing that keeps bothering me is the overprotective dad. Indeed, its nature's fury when it comes to fathers being overprotective of the female offspring. But what about the feelings of the man thats trying to claim her? I'm curious to know why fathers threaten with the, "if you hurt my daughter your dead" analogy. I think that's downright absurd. If I start beating my wife, the world will turn upside down. Theres like no way I'd do that!
Father proposed something to me. He said that if my girlfriends father ever said that to me, I should say, "fine, I'll marry you then." I thought this was rather funny. Overprotective fathers are an ingenious defense against those low-life husbands who come home at 11 o'clock drunk and beats their wife. I salute this filtering of stupid male partners. I just wish there was a way in which fathers would know that I'm a good person, and not those that beat their wife. I'm in AP classes! In fact, I might be more sensitive than the girl sheesh!
In the end, overprotective fathers, is natures defense, but that defense would be a bit too much for me.
