Arthur Ashe
By Michelle Asignacion
Arthur Ashe made a quote "From what we get, we make a living; what we give, however, makes a life." Arthur made a living out of tennis, and from this, he gives a lot to children and many charities and organizations. This quote means a lot to people because it teaches them a lesson of not to be greedy; the more you give the better person you are. After doing this essay, I would donate some of the clothes I don't wear to a nearby Goodwill just because he has taught a great lesson to many people.
Arthur Ashe was diagnosed with HIV and AIDS. Since he was diagnosed with these problems, he wanted to help other kids overcome the diseases by teaching them how to play tennis. He gave them hope of becoming better, and also a healthy exercise. I think this quote is saying that when you get money for example, it may not bring the happiness that you've wanted, but by giving, it makes another life happier thus making you happier.
