Both of Roark's parents are alive and well. Roark idolizes his parents. thay are Rugmakers and good ones too. Roark has a younger sister who loves and admires him. Roarks younger sister is determined and spirited and looks up to him as a the best hero in the world and often spends time spreading his tails of adventure, slightly exaggerated of course. Roarks family emigrated here by choice from Teberen Mill after the his birth. the family is admired and beloved. the familys rugs are well know for the exceptional quality, and Roarks parents have donated rugs and blankets to the poor.
He has earned the hatred of a guild-like organization called the oreh vice who want(s) to capture and torture him before killing him.
this happened when Roark was involved in a successful business venture. lets just leave it at (magic carpets) . The illegal actions of an underhanded competitor decimated the undertaking, this however, showed Roark just how cutthroat the real world can be. Now Roark is wary while making business deals, this is why he did not take up the family business.
Luckily, though, Roark has befriended a very large group (about one hundred people) and allies who provide him with equipment.this is the smithintile guild. the leaders child owes the Gossard family his life as thay supplied blankest and medicine when he was sick. the Rin family.
After being murdered, a close friend Roarks returned from the grave as a Ghoul He tormented the Gossards until Roarks own hand sent the creature to oblivion. The trauma of this event has given him a phobia of the undead. He sometimes takes this phobia to an extreme, incinerating corpses where he finds them, avoiding graveyards, and so on.
