The Rantings of Chez
Anything and everything I feel deserves talking about, be it a rant or not.
OMG ACEN was a BLAST!!!
ACEN was a BLAST!!! I had so much fun! I am definitely going again next year! 3nodding whee 3nodding whee 3nodding whee

Friday was a bit of a drag because we (meaning me, my Dad, and my friends) didn't leave until about late afternoon and then it took Dad and me forever to find registration. And by the time we got our badges and met up with the rest of my group, one of my friends was a little upset because of how long everything was taking. Luckily they got over it the next morning. (Also there were eight of us, including Dad and me, in two hotel rooms for anyone who wants to know.)

Speaking of badges, my badge name was "PERVY SAGE." The reason being is my Dad wanted to be called "PERVY SAGE" and I had a brain-fart and could not think of anything for my badge name, so the computer put down "PERVY SAGE" for me and "PERVY SAGE2" for my Dad.

(It didn't help matters that on Saturday I had a Deidara headband and Itachi cloak thrown at me. And since my badge name was "PERVY SAGE" I had joking called myself the illegitimate love child of three male ninjas; Itachi, Deidara, and Jiraiya. Everyone got a good laugh at that.)

On Saturday, we went shopping for a little while, lost and then found a member of our group (they didn't have a cell phone), and then I went off to go to a panel. Afterwards we went back to the hotel to get some food, drop off our stuff and get ready for the Soapbubble (a.k.a. the Rave).

Unfortunately we weren't able to get in. See my Dad wanted us to be ready to go back to the rooms at midnight (we were staying at different hotels than the ones nearest the convention center, same hotel just a different location). So while that wasn't a big deal we had no problem. That is until we found out just before we could get into it that there was a
"No Bags, No Props, No Exceptions" rule. We didn't know about it, it was NEVER mentioned.

So we had asked these people at a desk (they worked for the convention center) if they would watch our stuff. They refused, so we had to find my Dad. Well after we found him and gave him our bags (purses, fanny packs, etc., not shopping bags) we went to go back in line. So here we are figuring we wouldn't have long to wait right? WRONG! They told us that we had to go outside were the line was, we figured it would probably be pretty short. AGAIN WRONG! The line was winding all the way around the building!

So our group decided to just skip it and hang out across the street till midnight. That was okay though. We met some nice guys and hung out with them till midnight. And as it was cold out, one of the guys from the other group loaned me his long-sleeved shirt for awhile. Well, more like he plopped it on my head when he saw my shivering, but still. xd We even got the guys to exchange information with us so we could meet up on Sunday. Afterwards we went back to the hotel.

Sunday is the day I actually bought stuff, other than food and pocky. whee I grabbed a pair of cat ears, some cell phone charms, a couple keychains, and a paddle. It says "SEME" on one side and "UKE" on the other. I couldn't resist. whee xp After everyone was done shopping we went to meet up with my Dad for lunch. Then we went back to get the other car (we took two down to get to the convention center and that was the one loaded with all the stuff, since we checked out before going back to the convention center) and drove home. Dad and I took one of the group members over to their uncle's since their house key was with the car key which was given to their mom for the weekend. It wasn't a big deal though since Dad and I were going in that direction anyway.

So overall, ACEN was amazing. And quite the learning experience. Dad and I know what to do and not to do now and next time my little sister is coming with. I hope we won't have too many people next time. Especially any unplanned for people since Dad's working out arrangements now instead of later.

One last thing. My favorite keychain is colored black and says:

Yametter!
Atashi
Oshiri
Itai!!!

Which basically translates as:

Stop it!
My
Butt
Hurts!!!

I couldn't resist. I just HAD to have it! (Though where you see gray here it's actually white.)
