The Ball
Well, this was my senior year and I wasn't able to go to prom for many personal reasons. I am actually very heartbroken that I couldn't because I felt that after everything I went through, I deserve just one night of fun. Anyway, I decided I would make up my own prom right here in a story.

Its a bit cliche, but you know what, I don't care. Its the ball I want.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Colors flirt against each other, twirling round and touching edges. It was a magical dance of flirting and fun, this night. It was a ball that had been thrown for any and all who could make it. All had come from across the land, exotic places and places plain. Everyone was adored in their very best, ball gowns of every color fell in bounds of fabric to the floor while handsome tuxedos paraded them about.

Silk and velvet, chiffon and cotton. Curls and waves. Diamonds and pearls. Women were models of perfection. Ties and ruffles. Cuffs and leather. Gloves and hats. Men were models of perfection.

She wore the most beautiful dress made of Egyptian silk that billowed to the ground of the most alluring shade of green. Her neck and the chest above just a small hint of breast was bare except for her jewelry. Sleeves sat gently upon her upper arms with a light cloth wrapped around her for mere decoration on this warm spring night. Red rubies gently adored her lobes and collar bone in only the most delicate sort of way, as not to draw too much attention.

Brown hair cascaded in curls down her head and back, sparkling in a net of diamonds and a single butterfly pin. She was, by far, the most radiant lady here. A smile cross her pink lips, a shine gleamed over her eyes as a petite hand rose to lay upon her bosom. Her wrap was taken away as she gazed around the beautiful room.

A single ring adored her wedding finger, showing that she was merely betrothed to the man whom she had looped arms with. He, a tall man, in a dark tuxedo with a single crimson rose on his jacket. He wore not a hat, nothing adored his head except for cropped red hair with a hint of curls. He did not wish to be the center of attention tonight, for tonight was for his lady, which this ball was thrown for her.

But all formalities and beauty aside, they still only had eyes for each other.

Now, the room was something else. It was a magnificent ball room. Large enough for everyone to stand or sit comfortably with large cathedral windows that were draped in velvet curtains of purple that had hints of gold, red, blue, green, and pink that were tied back with gold rope to show the grandeur of the starry sky and large full moon. An elegant crystal chandelier, which gave the romantic light, hung from the middle of this room while smaller ones that danced with light sat around it. Decorations of baubles hung from high and low, casting light rainbows across the ceiling and floor. It was picture perfect.

Her man, with a smile, gently took her hand. Their eyes met and in a flutter of butterflies, he swept her down to the center of the ballroom, people moving to let her through. They admired her tonight, but happy smiles adorned their faces of adoration for her. She and her man locked hands, hers on a shoulder, his on a waist. He took the lead. The small orchestra tapped out a slow beat before strumming up a slow, romantic songs. He led her across the dance floor for a few moments before people started joining in the dance.

Tonight would forever be written in her memory, and this smile of hers, he would never forget.

Awww don't worry about it, I mean yeah that must suck not being able to go to prom and everything but it's gonna be ok. I live in Canada so there is no such thing called "prom" we only have dances. There is nothing special for our grade twelve dances which honestly really sucks for us. I'm in grade 10 at the moment hehe. heart Cheer up don't be too upset about this. I'm sure there alot of girls in the world who had to miss their prom too. biggrin
