Thanksgiving is over. The triptophan is wearing off. The slow steady hate for the rest of the world is creeping back in on little cat feet. Which have been removed from the cat by hacksaw. smile
My birthday is also over. Wooty, i'm of legal drinking age. Now, i can order booze with my meals. That is, if I wasn't always the one driving, and if we ate somewhere nicer than burger king or mcdonalds. razz I actually got really good gifts for my birthday. It's quite a surprise, since I tend to get crap for gifts. Oooh, socks, you shouldn't have. What's this? Oh, it's a gift certificate to the Nut store? thanks! I was almost out of macadamias. Why, I can't beleive it! It's the gift of my family forgetting! Aww, you shouldn't have. smile
This year, however, it seemed like people actually put thought into things. Which, on the whole, was very cool. We saw Goblet of fire. (Good, a bit rushed in places, but fun.) We ate at bennigans. I had a monte cristo and booze. Things went well. Actually, it kinda shocked me a bit. Things have not been going well for me recently and it was nice to have a day that didn't ******** me in some new and horribly interesting way.
Gaming news: The Xbox 360 is out. I fail to care. I've used one in a store. It's pretty, I'll give it that. Other than that, no real compelling reason to shell out that kind of cash for something that doesn't even give you full backwards-compatibility, and is basically unproven.
Need for speed; most wanted: As good as need for speed underground two. Much more difficult, but there's a perverse pleasure I receive from duping all those smokeys and smashing their cruisers into tiny bits under a giant donut as they try and catch my turbocharged, 10 sec 1/4mile, nitrous-burning Eclipse. It's ******** tasty.
Shadow of the colossus: I wasn't interested when it came out. Then, a friend brought it over, and I stayed up all night beating the ******** thing. Short, but.. such a gaming experience. It should be tried by all, much like katamari damacy. It's weird, it's got a unique flavor, and it provokes a sense of curious morals as you clamber onto and then savagely stab these massive and sometimes gentle, giants.
Got multiple giftcards to target, so, I went to target and spent them.
The simpsons, season 6 is, quite possibly, the best season ever. It has the goddamn stonecutters episode! (best episode ever) and the "A dozen and one greyhounds" episode. (best song and dance-routine, ever.) See my vest, see my vest... See my vest!
Also snagged a copy of Xmen: Legends for 15$ or so.. Haven't tried it yet, but it showed promise ages ago, and I never got around to trying it out. Of course, Need for speed and castlevania currently tug at my gamerstrings, and I bounce like the ******** puppet I am.
Finally managed to hack my 4.1 speakers into my TV with some cables I got at target. They sound fantastic, but the bass will anger the downstairs tenants unless I turn it down. I have to remember to do that when I get off work. Or, crank it way the ******** up, just because.
Other news: The car is resurrected. It lives once more, except my clutch throw is all the way down to 1 1/2 inches. Took some getting used to, but... it works. Apparently, I also need new brakes. ********.
Mom is going in for cancer removal surgery in the next few weeks. Things look promising.
Christmas is coming soon. I hate christmas. That reminds me, I should get started on the gift purchases. How in the bloody ******** am I going to obtain, wrap, and hide a copy of guitar hero? The box is HUGE.
