“I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.”
One hundred fifty when I start to slow up.
You'll catch me on the interstate, doin' donuts.

So, while I may be "feeding the internet pirahnas".. i'm going to take time to respond to all the responses I got about the halloween event, and the associated crap involved. Why? Well.. I have free time right now. That's really the only reason. smile

Now, I could do this point by point, and respond to each individual user. Or, I could do it according to the issues brought up. Or, I could just type the word "********" 300 times in a row, and it would achieve the same thing for some of these people. So, I'll go with.. the second option, which is really the same as the first, but a variation. Why not?

Q: The livejournal community I commented on does not contain complaints because people are afraid of losing their accounts. People complain on Gaia, too.

A: Yes, people complain on Gaia. constantly. At an olympic level. However, I am not the only person who thinks that the level, ferocity, and quantity of the complaints on livejournal is unrivaled on Gaia. Especially the badmouthing that goes with it.

Don't tell me to read livejournal to find out. That's how I came to this conclusion. By reading the livejournal community. I went pretty damn far back, and read most of the comments, too. I was looking specifically for complaints. It sparked my interest. The threads about questing and art auctions I left alone. Sure, you can call that a biased view. I never claimed it wasn't. It was directed at certain people. I enver named names, and I never, in fact, stated that it was a livejournal community at all. You all made that assumption and tried to crawl up my a** with it. And you state I jump to assumptions.

Q: You and your mod "cronies" never explained how the links were "cheating".

A: We didn't have to. We were told by the admins that it was considered cheating, and to inform the users that their use was frowned upon. It's not our responsibility to explain s**t to you. If you don't get why, that still doesn't entitle you to do it anyways.

Q: The policies are illogical.

A: So? Doesn't make them any less valid. If I had a website I had created, and I created a rule stating that anyone named "ted" couldn't be on the site, it doesn't matter if it's logical or not. It's my site, I can make the rules as I see fit. I don't see anything in the T.O.S. that ensures that the rules will always make sense to you.

Q: Blaming users for a complete lack of organization on all levels is incredibly childish on the whole part of the staff of Gaia.

A: I never blamed all the users for the lack of orginization. Nor did I blame anyone for that. In fact, you won't really see me talk about how Gaia is disorganized in the post. I was bitching about people being jackasses. This is an opinion. My journal is chock full of em'.

Q: You do alot of things wrong.

A: So does everyone else. It's part of being human. Apparently, it's much worse when I make mistakes. Will that stop me from making them? No. Will that stop you from thinking less of me? no. Do I care? Not really.

Q: You can't mod the users OFF GAIA.

A: I never tried to. If you read my posts in livejournal, I tried to clear up what i felt were misconceptions about the situation, and the admins. I never threatened anyone with any moderator activity. I posted because I have spent a great deal more time, in person, speaking with the admins about Gaia than most other people. I've spent time working the booth with them, in their hotel rooms, and eating dinner with them. Not to mention various other activites of questionable legality. My current status as moderator has afforded me this. Sorry if you don't like what i have to say, but that's not really my problem, nor will it change what i say.

Q: Simmer down and get off the high horse that is GAIA modship.

A: I'm not on a "high-horse" because I'm a mod. I'm ranting and complaining in a personal journal, about things I disagree with. Not as a mod, but as a person. Being a mod doesn't change my feelings about how people act or treat others. I'd say exactly the same thing if I was a user.

Note: Spoon actually admits to pushing things further off-site. It's an issue of freedom, apparently. That's fine, whatever. I wasn't upset because people were complaining. I was upset because of what they were complaining about, and the reasons they were using for justification.

"Maybe we gather there and push it further there because we don't have the same freedom here to say what deserves to be said, and do what deserves to be done. "

I question the "deserves" part, but I don't say her opinion is worthless. It's her opinion.

Q: Are you supposed to be abusing and degrading the people who play on Gaia?

A: I always have. Sure, that makes me a b*****d. I don't do it in a "mod-sense". I keep my emotions out of modding. That's why I b***h and rant and complain in a journal. I don't abuse the users, and I don't abuse my mod tools. Wether or not you beleive that, I don't have to defend it, it's fact.

Q:the only mental image I have of Gaian mods is that they all talk s**t about the users and brag about it in their journals.

A: You got this from reading one journal. One post, in one journal. Go read biliouses journal, or siskatayas, or Moonys, or Aerions. I'm angry and full of hate and poison. You picked a bad journal to start with. Also.. where the ******** did I "brag"?

Q: Good job at being a proffesional there Twist. Way to loose what little respect you should have as a mod.

A: It's a journal. Specifically, my journal. It's never been, nor will be, professional. It never had to be. So.. you can kiss my skinny white a**.

On a personal note, Koko... Coming from a person who cannot take being fired professionally, your opinion on professionalism is crap to me.

Q:A better comparison would be to compare the Gaia trick or treating to a real life game of Hide and Seek.. only the person you are finding decided to leave the building without telling you, leaving you to search endlessly for a UNFINDABLE person.

That is what happened with Trick or Treating. The event was not set up right, the same errors that plagued us LAST Halloween were still plaguing us this year. The purpose of the event to find Jack according to Slutty Eddie. BUT THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT USING THE HACK. (Which was used without issues LAST year, making it even more curious that it would be considered bad this year.)

A: So? And? You were told not to use the hack. Without it, you were unable to find Jack. The admins were aware of this, and were working to fix it. So, where did that give you right to violate the rule?

The event was extended to thursday. The event was under repair. It was not working properly, and needed to be fixed.

This did not give people the right to use the hack.

Q: But, it wasn't working!

A: As I said before. So? And? You wait just like everyone else was asked to.

Q: But, I had to get my jack items!

A: The event was extended to thursday to give you plenty of opportunity to get those items.

Q: The hack was the only way to get the items, and it didn't hurt anyone or anything.

A: You were asked not to use it. I fail to see how that's hard to comprehend.

If your father/mother has setup the tabletop game of Operation (that game where you pull things out of a person and the nose lights up when you touch the fiddly metal bits) for you, but has to go to the store to get batteries to make the game work, and asks you not to turn the game upside-down to get the bits out while he's/she's getting batteries, and then you do it anyways, do you question why he's mad at you?

No, because of the parental rule "i said so." Well, this applies on Gaia, too. If you don't agree with this, it still apllies.

Q: (insert gelmax post)

A: Shush, the adults are talking.

Q: What? what kind of resposne is that?

A: One I give when people post random nonsense in my journal.

To clairfy, we don't need to run to Dri when we want to ban somone. So, you're wrong there. But, you don't know how mods do things, so.. no blame applied.

Second, I won't ban you for leaving a smartass comment on my journal. That's power abuse, and, as already covered, I don't do that.

Q: you don't deserve a full point-by-point from me

A: Nope. I don't deserve a root canal or a full colonoscopy, either. And, as I didn't ask for any of the above.. Thanks. smile

Q: WELCOME TO THE INTERNET, DUMBASS.

A: I've been here for going on ten years. A little late, but thanks for the warm welcome.

If there's anything I didn't cover, I'm sure somone will point it out.
If you don't agree with what I've said here, that's not really my problem, but feel free to yammer anyways.

The last five questions didn't do justice to the fact that Gelmax is a self-absorbed a*****e who thinks he's cool just because he's been here a while.

    Otherwise, good work. =P

I still find it interesting that all these people who have an anti-Gaia initiative still post on this site.

Man, some people... The forum sucks! You suck! The rules suck! I'm hungry! It's too hot! It's too cold! I'm too pregnant!

Yeah, we all know those types... Now I don't care if you are pregnant, you're taking the damn X-rays instead of calling me at 3 in the morning. To take them for you...

As soon as I found out x-rays had the minute possibility of making you infertile, I was like...

TAKE THE LEAD OFF AND TAKE AS MANY X-RAYS AS POSSIBLE, b***h.

But of course they wouldn't. X|

Pat my a** and sit on my lap, Twist. You'll be feelin' more maturity down there than you've experienced in twenty years.

Now, first off, whether this "cheating" was in some way bad is up to interpretation. You see, that little cheat didn't harm anything in any way. The only thing it did was allow users to trigger Jack instantly, as opposed to spending ten goddamn minutes waiting for each piece of the Gaia map to load so they can have their little game of "Hide & Seek". You know, some people in the intarweb actually use dial-up, or so I hear, and I got enough s**t from the servers just using broadband.

Second off, just because Dri brings out your submissive side doesn't mean you have to be a goddamn dominatrix to the users. "OH NOES I'M SO MATURE AND MODLY AND SMART BECAUSE I SAY '******** YOU'."

Third off, no one cares what the admins say. Especially since they've been especially wussy as of late. I'd imagine this is the admins' own fault; VO getting down on his hands and knees and saying he was offended by the users using the wishlist to find out about unreleased items affected no one, and something as inane and lame as "Hey, that's cheating" isn't going to change anything, much like my TV's brightness knob.

Fourthly, whether or not you run to Dri when YOU want me banned, I'm pretty sure she's been looking for an excuse to get me banned anyway and I know you're not above throwing a troublesome user to the dogs to get him out of your face and make Dri happy so you can get away with using things like "please" as opposed to "I beg you severely, oh kind Emperor".

Though, with the way your entries have been appearing and disappearing lately, I'd imagine you're catching a lot more s**t than I over this. Poooooooooor baaaaaaaaaaby!

I know this isn't wise, but...if it took you ten minutes to find Jack on the map, you've got bigger problems than not getting a grab bag, because even a total cognitive slagheap could click things right quick.

All trenchant observations about the phrase "total cognitive slagheap" in conjunction with all these trolly garbage posts about Dri will be left to the imaginations of anyone bored and needing a laugh at a troll's expense.

Considering how slow the map loaded and how little I cared, I think ten minutes was quite quick.

Besides, you reap what you sow.

Gelmax, you talk a lot of s**t for somone who knows ******** all about what he's talking.

"Now, first off, whether this "cheating" was in some way bad is up to interpretation."

Not really. If you're told something is against the rules, anjd you do it anyways, then you've done soemthing "bad". No if, ands or buts. Just ebcause you can't understand this, and need an explanation, doesn't mean it doesn't apply to you. We're not here to hold you hand and wipe your a**, no matter how much you want us to.

"Second off, just because Dri brings out your submissive side doesn't mean you have to be a goddamn dominatrix to the users. "

See, this is where you totally go off your rocker. You have no clue what Dri's position entails, or what responsibilites she holds. We don't report to her, and she doesn't oversee all the bannings. The bannings can be called into question by the admins, but we don't need admin approval for any ban. This is how you look stupid; when you talk out of your a** on things.

I will reiterate. We don't ask Dri for anything, adn we don't need her permission. No matter how many times you insist that we do, you're still wrong.

"Though, with the way your entries have been appearing and disappearing lately, I'd imagine you're catching a lot more s**t than I over this. Poooooooooor baaaaaaaaaaby!"

Err, nope. See, assumptions getting you in trouble again.

I made this post, then hit submit, and my journal reset to december of 2004. It's happened to quite a few users.

    And finally:

"Pat my a** and sit on my lap, Twist. You'll be feelin' more maturity down there than you've experienced in twenty years."

Yes, because you trying to pass off assumption and opinion as fact just screams "maturity". Talk to me when you've stopped crying for mommy during thunderstorms, and your balls have dropped. I'll still turn you down, of course. That doesn't mean you can't try. smile

Ha, bullshit! Dri is Queen of the Mods, you're the only person who's ever even tried to deny that, and purples can't ban so you have to report to someone, and who better than the last admin I PMed? Mods need permission from Dri for a lot of things, I've seen the proof.

Show me the rule that says that getting Jack wasn't allowed?

Phailing as always, Twist. Is this really the best you can do?

    comment Gelmax · Community Member · Sun Nov 13, 2005 @ 06:41pm
Didn't even see your last comment, gelmax. So, i'll respond now. Which, you'll probably never see. *shrug*

"Ha, bullshit! Dri is Queen of the Mods, you're the only person who's ever even tried to deny that, and purples can't ban so you have to report to someone, and who better than the last admin I PMed? Mods need permission from Dri for a lot of things, I've seen the proof."

What proof? Show me this proof, please, since you're NOT a mod, and you don't know how being a mod works. You hear s**t through word of rumor, and try to pass it off as knowledge of how something works. That's the bullshit. You're arguing with somone who's been doing this for close to two years, long before Dri was made an administrator.

"Show me the rule that says that getting Jack wasn't allowed?"

There wasn't a specific rule added tot he TOS or the overall site rules, because it's a one-time issue. Creating a rule wasn't necessary. The admins relayed that using the links was not approved, and that the links should not be used. The fact that you fail to grasp this concept isn't my ******** problem.

The haven't made a new rule regarding the posting of unreleased items in profiles, but they have asked users not to do it, and you can still be held accountable for it, and have the items removed from your profile. Same concept. Grasp it, dullard.

Failing is spelled with an "F" not a "ph".

Apparently, that's the best you can do, and I'm not surprised. You've attempted to troll and goad me, and you've failed. Valiant effort, I must admit, but you really aren't doing much. I expected more from the "legendary gelmax", but I guess your standard audience of dim-witted 13 year olds is much more impressed with your haughty, bullshit-filled attitude than I am.
