No one could help her
All they could do was watch
The pretty girl who use to smile
Now hung from a knot

The gasps were open-ended
The cry was more like a strangled sob
The boy in the second row doubled over
Hiding his tears with a cough.

Her friends asked why they didn't see it coming
Her parents cried for what they could have done
but of all the woe and sorrow, none could compare
to that of the boy who sat in the second row.

She just was never happy
It seems like a sad excuse
She had everything she could have ever wanted
But that wasn't exactly the truth.

It's worse than anyone could imagine
Worse than your darkest fear
It's like drowning with an endless death
That's trapped inside your room.

Her home soon felt like a prison
Her life felt like a continuous book
Pages full of dissapointment
and tears that never healed her wounds.

There were no signs of doubt
She knew where and when
It was just like her,
To bow out gracefully in the end.

Here is something that none of them will know:

All her life she wanted someone
A love to call her own
She just wasted too much time dreaming
of the boy in the second row.
