“I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.”
This is how we play the game..
Win or lose it's all the same.

i've found a bigger pit of senseless crap and mindless jackass, expounding upon opinion as if it were fact, and riding those wonderful crests of "Inernet popularity". This pit is larger, and more bleak and horrid than GD. It is more senseless and chock full of idiots than the worst day in chatterbox. And it's not even on Gaia. wink

Many of you love this place. Many of you are paying members. Quite frankly, I'm sick of this place. I'm sick of everyone there trying to pass off their goddamn opinion as fact. Especially when it concerns Gaian issues. I'm sick of watching people I respect wander in there, and join the masses of trolls and flamers, and shove their heads up their goddamn asses with the rest of the ********.

So, let me lay some things on the line for some of you. For the people who are really pissing me off today. For the people who really pissed me off a week ago, and will piss me off tommorrow. And the next day.

Gaia is a website.
Gaia is a game, and a forum, all in one. It' a magical concotion of heaven and hell and vile putrecense and anger and rage and sickness and stupidity and violence and sex and love and hate and lust and loss and sheer unbridled base isntincts. It's all kill or steal or ******** or take. That's all it boils down to for most of the users.

And that's a little ******** sick. They will do anything to get their pixelated crack hit. Break any rule, steal, lie, cheat, dishonor, spread rumors, and hack the ******** system, to get this pixelated crack hit.

This could have been a good event. It still might be. I don't harbor much hope for that. All these ******** ******** are going to ruin it for me. Why? Because they resort to any ******** urge just to get their way. They are the spoiled, misbegotten masses of Gaia. The rich-b***h kids who look for the hamstring while admiring the leg.

The petty bastards who gather off gaia, to discuss gaia, and badmouth gaia where they can't be banned. Why? because for all the prattling, whining, bitching, complaining, lying, cheating, schemeing, plotting, scamming, rampant bullshit that they spout.. They're all so afraid of losing their accounts that they leave Gaia to complain.

They just can't stand to lose their items that they worked so hard ******** people over for. In their off-site fortress, mods are powerless, so of course, mods are standard bashing material. Just like everywhere else. Because we don't get enough crap at this job already, we need to get it off-site, too. And sure, they bash the s**t out of mods, but everyone knows it's from an underlying desire to be one.. right? Well, maybe not. They hate and revile us so much, they might just fear becoming one of the persecuted.

And it doesn't matter if you're a good, clean mod who does their ******** job, doesn't abuse power, and is generall as human as possible. No, doesn't matter. Nothing can beat past their opinions and notions, and assurances, and their "past traumatic moderator experience". Oh, cry me a ******** river. When we moved your thread about how cool you were because of your big p***s, it wasn't a direct attack on your inscutable throne of pwoer or your massive genitalia, or your impossible popularity, or your accumulated golden wealth, or your infallible lofic. It's because it was in the wrong ******** place, or it didn't belong on gaia. Maybe if you spent less time jacking off all over each other, you'd realize that the rules apply to you too.

But, I get excited from time to time, and let my hate spill out. Usually, it's after i've wandered near the fortress of solitude, and felt the cries and the wailings of the damned, stupid ******** inside.

I've got an attachment to the site because I work here. Becuase I like seing my work make things better. No mod takes the job to watch things get worse. No mod works here to abuse people and degrade people. No mod takes this job to have people spit in their faces every goddamn day.

I'm sick of people spitting on my work and on my name. I'm sick of people spitting on the admins for trying to create a place for people to have fun. I'm sick of people giving the admins s**t for trying to earn a living doing something they love. I'm sick of people blaming everyone else for their situation. I'm sick of overinflated egos and undervalued facts. I'm sick of people crying abuse and screaming opression because they can't follow ******** rules. Sometimes, sometimes, I'm sick of caring. I'm sick of giving a s**t about people.

That doesn't mean I'll stop. Because, try as I might, I always find a little bit more fight in me. A little bit more to give to everyone. A little push of anger to keep my sanity and my spirit going. Sometimes it seems like so much push, for so little reward. Sometimes..

And people wonder why I'm so angry.

And s**t, I know I act so nonchalant sometimes, it's got to be abrasive. I know a lot of you think I don't care. I know a lot of you hate me. I know a lot of you think you're better than me. I can't change that. All I can do is tell you what I see, and hope you do something.

*hugs* Gaia will always be like this and you know it. It's sad. Rather than bitching about the event people could do other things, but they/we don't. I never had the time to make zombie status, but I'll live, I can live without a grunny on my head, I went out and had a blast doing other things... and now I'm Trick or Treating, cause it's fun, and inbetween the three minute wait I can be productive! What a concept, multitasking on Gaia.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.I can see why you b***h. I've seen some of the s**t people say to you mods, like Moony. Aweful crap. I've had people IM me to b***h because I point out the rules.. like you say, in a place where the mods have no power. I don't keep my aim out in the open so people can b***h to me without me being able to report them, I keep it there to help people with things like.. the GIMP and my shops, but nooooo, some people just gotta IM me with bitchyness.. or odd randomness with a/s/l in which I promptly warn and block them for being idiots.

Keep your chin up and ignore them.. and vent, I think that really helps, getting it off your shoulders.

It's posts like these that make me glad that I help the site, however little it may be in comparison to the work of a moderator, and that I support the mods. It makes me glad that I want to be one, to help the site more than I can now, regardless if it means that I have to share your anger.

Sometimes I can see why the people complain, whine, and just be annoying about the way the admin do things, and sometimes I even want to join them. But then I realize that the admin are doing what they can as hard as they can whenever they can for the best results.

Just remember: They only attack you offline because they fear you on site, and that moderators will always supporters.

The whole situation was retarded, and you guys did nothing but provoke it. If you think people only shittalk about Gaia offsite, then you're delusional.

And for reference, no. I didn't use the cheat, even though I was perfectly aware of it and virtually everyone I knew was using it. And it would've "helped me" out a damn lot, since I'm on stupid dial-up and just got my third item from Jack neutral

They're all so afraid of losing their accounts that they leave Gaia to complain.

Um, no. That's not even close to the truth, and by stating such you are being closeminded, ignorant and overally pessimistic. The fact of the matter is this: MANY of the people who are vocal about their dislike for Gaia staff and/or the actions of those staff members have no problem stating their concerns/opinions ON Gaia or OFF.

Before you make such asinine comments, why do you actually take a look at what gets posted in the livejournal communities dedicated to Gaia? There are posts about quests, art auctions, and people asking for advice on what hairstyle their avatar should have next.
If you want to pretend they are nothing more than venues for mod bashing, feel free, but don't whine when people make assumptions about YOU because of 1-2 things they see you do that they disagree with. You are focusing on the negative, and even worse, you have begun spreading untruths about MANY people based on the actions of just a few. Yet you have the balls to whine about how mods get enough crap on Gaia...? Don't dish s**t out if you can't take it yourself Twist. Doing so makes you a hypocrite. biggrin

I am very sorry that you and your mod cronies were unable to adequately explain why using a workaround was in fact cheating, and therefore you felt attacked by those of us that questioned your comments. That is not the fault of those 'petty bastards' as you decided to call them (how very mature and professional of you by the way! rolleyes ), rather it's the fault of Gaia staff members (admins AND mods) for making rules and policies that are ILLOGICAL.

    comment jessyta · Community Member · Tue Nov 01, 2005 @ 02:26pm
The mods, devs and admins do it to themselves.

Blaming users for a complete lack of organization on all levels is incredibly childish on the whole part of the staff of Gaia. I think the mods, devs and admins need to get their s**t together instead of making whiney a** posts like this, going to post in a community offsite where before you had to throw around your opinion which you consider to be the bible and not taking into concideration anything else someone says, and spending all day in a little chat room talking smack about the users.

And yes, I -so- say these things because I want to be a mod, right? No. I say them because the mods are so full of themselves that they can't see when they do something, frankly anything, wrong.

You do alot of things wrong. It's just none of you can take the heat when you do. And you wonder why the users flame you on and off site. Give me a break. Maybe if the admins would fix something I wouldn't have to post from my mule account because the whole event doesn't want to work on my main account.

Wrong there buddy. Like Jessyta said, alot of us who b***h off GAIA also b***h ON GAIA. Read my GAIA journal. It's filled with it.

Also, you're blowing this soooooooo far out of proportion and you seem upset cause we proved a point that A) You can't mod the users OFF GAIA. and B) The issue of bashing was never about mods, it was about what was said. NOT WHO SAID IT. Simmer down and get off the high horse that is GAIA modship.

I had more to say but Jessyta and the others pretty much read my mind and there's no point to repetition.

(My full reply was way too long. Read the rest here if you care. wouldn't want to be accused of more cowardice now razz http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=1528251)

    ----------

As far as gathering off-site to bash gaia...guess what, I actually LINKED to and QUOTED my complaints I made against the admins. That's where it started for me, actually, and I was continuing it. Maybe we gather there and push it further there because we don't have the same freedom here to say what deserves to be said, and do what deserves to be done.

I've been meaning for a while now to compile all these complaints, suggestions, and direct harsh criticsm into a post for the site feedback forum. But for one, i've been too lazy, more concerned with my real world, and put off from the idea that it will probably just get locked because the unruly masses will make it spiral into an ignorant flame fest. I typed some of this out now and in the past few days through posts and comments because, hey, I never can resist a good argument once it's started.

I hardly see why this all amounts to cowardice; I would love nothing more than for the admins to hear my criticism and take my awesome advice. I can't access the admins even if I want to. Their public face is that they value your feedback and all that s**t, but the older mods - especially you green names out there - will tell you you're not supposed to PM them unless it's critical, such as reporting mod misconduct, and you're not supposed to use the feedback form, again, unless it's critical; missing donations and the like.

Wow, talk about creating a fun and friendly environment.
Are you supposed to be abusing and degrading the people who play on Gaia? Because it sounds to me like maybe you should be going to your superiors and clarifying what kind of image you're supposed to be presenting to the populace.
Since I usually don't go and read mod journals (this was linked to me), I can accurately say that right now, the only mental image I have of Gaian mods is that they all talk s**t about the users and brag about it in their journals.

    Good job.

    comment Spooky Electric · Community Member · Tue Nov 01, 2005 @ 08:11pm
Yes, because poorly explained instructions are the fault of the users. That and the whole lack of information flow from the admins to the users is really great for events that can benefit from more information given to the users rather then less.

Good job at being a proffesional there Twist. Way to loose what little respect you should have as a mod. neutral

(really for the rest, just read Bill's, jessyta's and Spoon's replies)

Wow, I'm so happy that everyone believes a personal journal is suddenly supposed to be a professional explanation of Gaia events.

Why yes, I can totally see why a JOURNAL isn't made for ranting! Of course it's for explanation! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT ANY OTHER WAY?

You guys(commenters) are a bunch of asshats. Twistex is a person too, he is allowed to rant. You guys rant about mods, he rants about you.
Generalizations run rampant in journals, and suddenly it's okay to point the flaws out when it's a mod you happen to dislike?

Don't make critisism if you can't take it.

Of course, [Q], because that only makes too much sense, so you must be wrong. So what. You are a user on the worlds fastest growning internet message board. You come here. For free. At your own discretion. And you are going to b***h because Gaia doesn't cater to you. Further more, you are going to oust an individual like Twistex just because he holds mod status. Well, you know what? How many mods and admins are there? Per user of Gaia? Per post per day? How in the hell do you honestly expect to be accomodated when they have a volume like this to attend to? Gaia is not the ******** military. People are not trained with a uniform code of conduct, so as such, the variation and intensity of work and user interraction required on behalf of the high-ups is plain out overwhelming, not to mention Lanzer and crew who have to MONITOR AND UPKEEP THE PHYSICAL HARDWARE IN ADDITION TO THE SITE CONTENT. I believe that many Gaians have their head so far up there a**, they are just incapable of seeing the big picture. Remember. Gaia owes you NOTHING. As to the glitches and exploits, holy s**t. They were never meant to be there, so don't b***h when they dissapear. You knew what you were doing when you engaged in the exploitation of these "cheats," and then you want to b***h when corrective action is taken. Well, how about you show some ******** integrity and stand out by stepping away from the issue, and letting to those it concerns to fix it... Or better yet, you can stand up and take a proactive approach to solving the problem. And to those of you who can't handle the truth, this is a ******** journal entry, not a public forum. And you. ********. Hypocrites. You do nothing but b***h about mods, but when a mod speaks his mind and lashes back, that makes him/her wrong? You are ******** delusional. But honestly. What else would I expect from a cesspool consisting mostly of social rejects in their adolescence. I hope that most of you ungrateful ******** aren't American, because the thought of laying down my life for you c** guzzlers is depressing.

jessyta, the reason the Jack hack is illegal is because it defeats the purpose of the event. The event involves trick or treating and then searching for Jack. Asking why this is illegal is like asking why you can't move twice in a row in Checkers.

Gaia events bring out the worse in people. Or actually, Gaia events bring out the power players. Those people who want to exploit every little loophole, weither intended or not, inorder to "win" clothing for their what amounts to a dress up dolly. Those people who are willing to jump infront in line to obtain a prize they could have gotten if they would have simply jump infront of someone smaller, hurting gaians who needed to find someone a rare person with a very high count. It's crap, it ruins any sort of community Gaia could possibly have and yet it's unavoidable. It's unavoidable that the role playing in The GAIA Exchange is gone forever. Heck, no one "enters" a thread anymore. The chatterbox is 90% spam instead of 50% spam and 50% light roleplaying.

However, this is the face of MMORPGs. Gaia has gone from a role play forum that if you simply roleplayed, you'd obtain enough gold to get whatever, to a game to amass a huge pile of gold and items. The admins had a chance to avoid this by making events less gold hungry, but they fed it instead. You reap what you sow, and you have sow'ed a greedy Gaia, one that the RPG'ers have left and the power users have joined.

Gaia doesn't owe us our every whim, but Gaia has given us events that require us to invest 2000+ posts in 2 days to obtain an item. The users want events planned, not with the idea that we're friends, but with the idea that Gaians are out for blood and are willing to sell thier naked bodies to get whatever pixels Lanzer is offering us. This is the new face of Gaia the users are screaming for and the admins should have adapted a long time ago.

My two cents to all the assholes who cry about moderating: Piss off and go back to playing in the sandbox, kids. No one asked you to come here, if you really believe that 'ZOMG I'd be a better mod!' crap that you spew, if you really think that Gaia is a sinking ship run by fools and morons, I have a solution; Go build a better site. It should be easy to take the crown from Gaia, if they really are run ineptly, if the users are really so oppressed that they would jump ship at the first opportunity. Go on, do it! You can make your millions, retire, and lounge on a private island surrounded by naked women, men, or whatever you prefer to screw.

...Oh, not that easy, huh? Well then, shut the ******** up, offer constructive criticism, or fall down a stairwell and die cold, alone and crying. Your choice.

Twist: Though I doubt it helps much, just remember: These people entities are just vocal diseased colons. There are people out here who appreciate the work you mods do. Envy your job? Not on my life. Appreciate that you do it? Hell yeah.

I already said what I needed to say to Twistex... And some of these other comments are just too laughable to even try to respond to... but since Slutty Eddie addressed me directly, I shall reply...

jessyta, the reason the Jack hack is illegal is because it defeats the purpose of the event. The event involves trick or treating and then searching for Jack. Asking why this is illegal is like asking why you can't move twice in a row in Checkers.

That comparison was a very poor choice on your part. Moving twice in a row in checkers would give one player an advantage over the other, because the game of checkers can only have one winner and one loser. Using the Jack "hack" has no impact one anyone other than the person who used it. If I used that "hack", YOU would not be impacted in any way, shape or form. The number of items I get from Jack will not limit the number of items YOU can get at all. So again, your comparison was shitty. xd

A better comparison would be to compare the Gaia trick or treating to a real life game of Hide and Seek.. only the person you are finding decided to leave the building without telling you, leaving you to search endlessly for a UNFINDABLE person.

That is what happened with Trick or Treating. The event was not set up right, the same errors that plagued us LAST Halloween were still plaguing us this year. The purpose of the event to find Jack according to you Slutty Eddie. BUT THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT USING THE HACK. (Which was used without issues LAST year, making it even more curious that it would be considered bad this year.)

sephirothgal - It IS amazing, isn't it? That you and so many others are SO OBSESSED with an online game that was created for fun and enjoyment, that you'll throw a hissy fit when the game is interrupted by computer glitches.

Meanwhile, in the real world, normal people are a little more concerned about REAL problems like cancer, pollution, hunger, war and more. Have you thought about or done anything about one of these problems lately? I'm guessing you haven't, judging by your childish mentality. Maybe you could have if you weren't sitting at your computers for hours on end, grumbling about your slow dial-up interfering with your precious online playtime.

When you solve one of these real problems with a pixelated graphic you found on Gaia, come back and gripe all you want. Until then, you and the other whiners should save yourselves the embarrassment and SHUT IT.

Now, I'm sure someone as pissy and flamey can forgive me for lowering my mind to your level just long enough for you to understand it, and I hope you realize how much amusement I will derive from you crawling over to Dri asking in your badass way "I'm ever so sorry to bother you Empress Dri, but could you please possibly consider banning this dude? It's not that he's offending any possible sense of self-worth since you forbid me to have that last week, but I know he's been a thorn in your side and this might possibly be your excuse to ban him, my Mistress". OK, I was enjoying laughing at the rant and the mod lovers. I had no need to post because I never really gave a s**t about ToT'ing. This affected me about as little as the 'hack'. Funny how that happens.

Now though, I see people acting superior for not getting pissy over an online game. Quite frankly that's bullshit.

We've all been there. We've all been on sites where things have gone wrong or the admin have made bad decisions. We've all ranted to ourselves or friends about it. We may have gone as far to rant in our personal journals about it or, if the site is big enough, a journal community.

We're not all immature little kids that don't think about the world or the bad s**t going on there.

It's called escapism. Some people use the internet in their spare time, some for work. Others use it to destress from real life issues. When things go wrong on the websites we use to destress, the website doesn't fulfill our purpose for being there. That makes us unhappy and/or angry.

And then we're back to taking it offsite to rant.

Just because someone rants about a site in livejournal [community or not] does nto mean their immature. Does not mean they don't think about and help with world issues. I know plenty of people that partook in the rants that also have RL issues and help out with charities.

You can't bring RL into this. It's about whether or not you want to suck up a mods backside. Nothing else.

Please, get over yourselves. Dignity is the new black kthxbai.
