What does 'universal remote' mean?
I would think, with vast my stores of knowledge, that it simply means you are able to turn the channel on any TV at any given time and this channel change applies to all the TVs in the world.
However, this is not so.
A universal remote actually means ' We will annoy you with the fact that this remote is not actually universal and to make it even more irritating we added multiple nonsense buttons that you have no clue what they actually do.'
On another side it might be perfectly acceptable if the remote could tune into any TV on its own and thus give you its capabilities with any TV. You could just carry a remote with you everywhere so you wouldn't have to worry about 'The Mystery of the Lost Hotel Remote' when you would have brought your own with you that works perfectly fine.(Considering that you weren't a complete imbecile and remembered to put fresh batteries in it before you left on your trip.)
With this I can imagine 'The Channel Changing Menace'. A flighty fellow who wishes to rule the world. He could change the channel at any given time! And because of this the world will complain to its broadcasting and/or remote companies. With this, they will surrender to the Menace and he will thus rule the world.
Or you could just bribe him with cookies, as I hear he is very partial to snicker doodles, and gain control of the remote that way. You may either give it to the authorities where they will display it in the Washington Museum or you can keep it for yourself and become the new ' Channel Changing Menace'. One you'll be a hero or two you'll be a completely annoying and arrogant fool as eventually your reign of power shall end!!!!
*cough cough*
That ends today's discussion.
